the other draft pick in this trade was 33rd overall which the islanders traded along with the 77th overall pick for the 28th overall pick and selected anthony beauvillier.
so let’s just pretend that the oilers did that same trade to jump up and select beauvillier as well.

I really love AA, so I could go either way on that trade... (from Detroit perspective)

Dubnyk would have never been a starter/great G if he wasn't traded from Edmonton. So good for him he got moved

If you reversed bad draft picks, you could've had Barzal

Was about to say the same. The Oilers made so many mistakes that you just lose track of some smile If I am not mistaken, the other part of that trade endend up in Bauvillier if I am not mistaken

Lol getting spooner is bad but moving spooner is bad too. Can't really judge the AA trade yet.

I don't think you want that back. Let me help. Spooner was bought out after that season. He was in the KHL last season. Gagner was still in the league.

Take the win (I don't think that's the right word here) Edmonton.

Petry wouldn’t have re-signed, also the 4th became Caleb Jones (and the 2nd was traded for Talbot, but that doesn’t affect the current team).

Don’t really know how you can say Athanasiou was a bad trade after only 9 games. Also it’s likely EDM wouldn’t have picked Barzal, they were apparently in on Joel Erickson Ek
