Goodbye Sean Hello Taylor

Description
People might laugh but there is absolutely some merit to the reports that Hall will consider Calgary. Gotta make room somehow with one of the core pieces. Sean is an excessively one-dimensional player. Analytically and eye-test he has been keeping Johnny back the last few seasons, he is just such a slow player who does not use his size at all.

Very confident in Lindholm being able to fill the 1C roll.

Montreal get's the 1C they have been looking for forever. Give's them options with Domi, Danault, Kotkaniemi, Monohan for how they want to run the middle. Also, add's a scoring touch that they desperately need. Gallagher give's the flames a super deep proven scorer, who won't be on the books past this season (hence Poehling being added).

MTL decline not even close. We don’t need centers, we need RW ( Gallagher Armia ). Danault Suzuki Domi Kotkaniemi Poehling, yes, let’s trade for another Center lmao

Montreal doesn’t need no more that number one center. They have Suzuki and Kotkaniemi that will be a very good one two punch for year to come and with Danault in the third slot they are more then fine at Center. In the other hand they are extremely thin on the right wing and trading away Gallagher isn’t fixing any problem but creating a bigger one

could be a problem having only 4 starters that have a right shot on the team

If your trading Monohan call Buffalo, you'll get a better offer, and better players, Habs do need C's regardless of the prospect depth they have they've needed C's for like a decade now

It's a good offer for MTL but the part which confuses me is how you claim that he's essentially a one dimensional player who's been carried by Gaudreau and then also claim he'll be a great 1C for MTL.

So which is it ?

As A MTL fan I would do this trade tomorrow morning.
I think monahan have way more upside/trade value than Gallagher (UFA next season as well).

Lets keep Domi to the wing and move Kotkaniemi to the wing as well (played LW in liiga).

If that’s what it takes to get monahan, sign wpg up, I’m sure we can find a package equal or greater. I think cgy might be a sleeping giant of these early rounds of the playoffs.

I think you're fan base would argue you guys need centre's now. Enjoy the next 4 years as you wait for those guys to "maybe" end up as good as Monahan. Gallagher is leaving you next year anyways.

Fair point, but the Flames haven't had more than 4 righties in years.

He still has great value, he offer's a very specific kind of role. Flames need to add speed and intensity if they truly want Johnny to be the leader.

Phillip Danault is better than Monahan right now.

Why would they get rid of one of their if not best Center to bring Hall. Plus Monahan has a really good contract for his skill, breaking up the first like would be so pointless. Plus Calgary fans would be pissed if they brought Hall to the roster.

Make sense! Seems like a win win in that case.

I truly love Gallagher but mtl has too many under size forward currently in the lineup. In 2021 caufield will most probably be added to the lineup + if mtl draft 9th, they could end-up drafting another small fwd (pefetti, rossi, zary etc..).

MTL fan base think Drouin can get Girard straight up. The rest of us who understand hockey and team’s needs, we won’t accept the trade you proposed.

No he is not, Danault is also on an expiring contract and is he's as "good" as claimed his next contract would then run in the area of 7 - 8 million x 7/8 years
