do you really think an AHLer, a potential 3rd line centre and 2 first round picks and a second will be enough?

Apparently Pierre-Luc Dubois is better than Eichel.

Pure fantasy, Too bad neither trade is remotely realistic.

I don't know who you're referring to but I gave up a19yo former 3rd OAP, a 21 yo former 24th OAP and 2 future1sts.

Why would we trade Gallagher over Tatar? None of these moves make a lot of sense Eichel and PLD would cost more and Gallagher is 1000000x better than Tatar

That was back then.

Now one of them would be probably a top 15 pick and the other one a mid 2nd round pick

Players like Eichel don't grow on trees

WTF are you talking about? A 19 yo and a 21yo. Are you saying they've peaked??

Most likely a late first this year and a first 2 years down the road, which you always assume is a very late first. Seems pretty light.

No, but that other players who were drafted after them just performed better than both of them.

I think Kotkaniemi was surprisingly good in his first season, but since then it did not really go the way people were hoping for. Players right behind him kind of improved more than he did. He Habs should have given him time to develop.

And with Poehling, I think many players draftet after him just really outperformed him. Kind of no production at the NHL level, but also not a lot of production at the AHL level. A point every third game does not really look like a high end talent. I am not sure if he will ever be an above average talent in the NHL. I think he is more like Gauthier for the Toronto Maple Leafs

wake up and smell the roses buddy, kotkaniemi is a bust. poehling is beyond underwhelming. who knows where those two firsts are going to be slotted in the draft. this is an absolutely atrocious offer. jack eichel is a superstar. you want him? give us caufield, domi, romanov and then we’ll talk.

1 year of Gallagher gets a similar return as 6 years of Eichel?

Kotkaniemi got drafted as a 17 yo. Youngest player in the draft. How can you come to such a conclusion after such little time spend in the pros. I'm not stubborn enough to not accept a convincing argument but the one you're opposing isn't strong enough.

Thanks for pointing that out, I meant to include that Gally signs an extension with CAR. But either way the packages are not similar as you're stating.

I think Montreal is just not developing the right way. He was a young player, which is why he should have started in the minors. Usually players are drafted, then they are in the Minors and then they should stay in the NHL. For JK it was getting drafted, play in the NHL and then play in the AHL a season after that.

He is still not horrible, but I think players who got drafted after him like Hughes, Tkachuk, Zadina, Boquist, Farabee, Dobson, Sandin and probably also Romanov are just showing more promise at the moment. He was on a pace for like an 18 point season.

They are pretty similar. A 1st instead of a 3rd and Kotkaniemi instead of Suzuki.

That definitely doesn't make up the difference between Gallegher and Eichel. Not even close.

For the Gallegher trade take out Suzuki.

For the Buffalo trade add Nick Suzuki and this year's 1st.

KK isn’t a bust, but he was over drafted in a very thin C draft yr, Poehling is a defensive oriented C that to be honest doesn’t move the needle a whole lot for an elite 1C and in the 1st that were traded aren’t even going to get a sniff at being lottery picks and a late 2nd. That package is less than COL got for Duchene. That’s an easy no for BUF.

You have been told before that that offer is not the basis for a PLD trade - and indeed that no offer can be the basis for a PLD trade to the Habs, because the Habs do not have a current established #1C. Why do you persist?

it doesn't matter how many draft picks you throw in - if, after a deal, the Jackets do not have a #1C - not a stand-in like Domi, but an actual NHL-level #1C - then that trade is going to be rejected.

COL got the package for Duchene AND Turris. But even if it was just for Duchene it would be labeled "the exception" . Just like me countering your example by saying that Hall got traded for Larsson, and you replying that it was also an "exception".

But I fully understand your point of view. My job is to convince BUF that KK will pan out to be like Barkov like the experts were comparing him to before he got drafted. And also I have to convince them that Poehling winning the WJC MVP still has stock.

I get that, but KK like Barkov is a monstrous stretch. KK was over drafted as I mentioned and Barkov wasn’t just picked #2 overall the head scout of the Avs at the time, who had the pick wanted him #1 overall. You’re trying to sell a discount package to team that has all the leverage.
