mcavoy wasnt looking to injure staal. niskanen crosschecks gallagher in the face. Mcavoys hit was clean and square to the body. Difference between the 2 hits: 1 was a penalty that caused an injury where the player stayed in the game. the other was clean which caused an injury where the player couldnt return.

The problem is that if you let the smaller cross checks that don’t do any damage go, then players are just going to keep doing them until they get so bad, like the cross check last night.

Although I don’t blame the refs on that play last night. It was behind the play, and there was no way they could’ve seen it.
