much harder team to play against.

mikheyev should be higher or he'll get an offer sheet.

change dermott to sandin in the ekblad trade.

Much harder for sure.

The Mikheyev deal is 1 year, that's why it is so low. But I think a 4 year at 2.5m a year would be great for both parties (and it could work in this AGM). I like him a lot and think he should be a player they protect in the expansion draft.

As for Dermott to Sandin. That would be a hell of a package to Florida. Nylander + Sandin. Shoot. But it definitely may be what needs to be done. Florida only trades Ekblad for a serious package, so you may be right. In that scenario I think Florida adds a second round pick at minimum. But if I were Dubas I would try to make Ekblad or someone similar happen.

for sure it's a lot to give up but I dont think dermott does it. dermott just doesnt have to offensive potential to replace what florida would lose in ekblad.

Very reasonable and realistic price for Johnsson. Are you sure you are a TOR fan? smile

Why would Wings risk two picks on a guy coming of IR. Not in any position to do that at this time

Haha! Most people/fans in general tend to be very uneducated in terms of sports and in trades. So there are a lot of very bad ones made. But Toronto has more fans than every other team, so you see more of it. But I assume on a percentage basis, Leaf fans aren't any worse than fans of other teams.

And in saying that, I have made my fair sure of awful trades, for and against Toronto. I admit those mistakes when they are presented to me :P. Sometimes.... Haha

3rd and a 7th for a a 25 year old, signed for 3 more years, who got 20 goals and 43 points 1 year ago, who works extremely hard. The reason you are getting him for a 3rd and a 7th is because he is coming off injury and because Leafs need to move out cap. It is a very worthwhile risk for Detroit or another team in their position. He could be a great addition to your team. Detroit fans would love this guy. (Leaf fans love this guy)

Definitely gonna need more for Ekblad. He’s a true #1 RHD and as skilled as Nylander is he’s at best a point per game player, but he’s only shown 70pt potential so far. Sandin+ isn’t an unrealistic ask. I could see TOR adding as much as a 1st or 2nd to this as is. Ekblad is a big part of Florida’s present leadership team and future, probably their second most important player after Barkov. Nylander is Toronto’s 4th most important forward, let alone player.

Yea! It was recommended a few comments up that it be Sandin and Willy for Ekblad. That may be better value for sure. Can't argue on that!

I understand the point you are making and he did have a 20 goal season and this season he was on pace for about 13 this season. You also have to take into consideration he is playing on one of the best offenses in the league. It will be considerably harder for him to score in Detroit. He also comes with a $3.4M cap hit. Detroit is rebuilding and doesn't have enough pieces in place to trade 2 picks for a player with so many question marks.

Much slower team to play against. I think the big swing is a bad idea. Ekblad is very good, no doubt but I am not sure he's the answer. Nylander is needed and on a steal of a deal. I think Kapanen is for some unknown reason still a highly valued asset and I would capitalize on that. Move him for Murphy or even Roy + and I would also target Loughton from Philly. If Gudas can be had for 2-3 years at less than 3 million I would consider it but I would also want to keep the speed this team has.

We already have a #1 elite defenceman and we have a top pair defenceman as well. What we need is guys who are clear cut top 4 players to play with them. I don't think we need another #1 defenceman. That is just what trolls on here say and the media fuels the debate to get ratings. I think the depth is the biggest area that needs help.

Kerfoot won't get a top 40 pick in this year's draft. Maybe a 2021 2nd.

Fair! Thoughts on Buffalo being a potential fit for him though? I think they could/should go for him, if they are not able to get a Cirelli type or sign a guy like Haula.

Getting Ekblad wouldn't hurt though. This D Corp looks deadly and their offence still looks very good. Why not stack on D? Rielly is a clear top 15 dman in the world, having Ekblad and Muzzin as their main guys for the next several years would be huge!

Yeah I think kerfoot would be a good option if they are unable to get a bigger fish.
The big thing is buff is missing a 3rd so it would be tough to miss a pick in both 2nd and 3rd in this draft.
But I would say a more distant pick would be obtainable
