I like him, but as a throw in like this. He's so talented, it's really a shame he's been victim to the injury bug. Not a fan of JVR, however. We have too many left wings and his contract is rough. Swap him for Ghost or something, maybe the Flyers add a bit more, and call it a day.

I'd try to get him without giving up one of our blue liners first. That's probably unrealistic, but that's where I'd start if I'm Guerin.

You still need a 1C if you let go of Staal. What are the options? You can trade Brodin and pieces, but IMO Kuznetsov is the best bet

I do like the idea of trying to send Fletcher drafted players over to Philly for someone like Patrick or Frost. Not sure how much Fletcher learned about holding on to players he drafted too long after being fired for it.

The hope here is is that Patrick develops into a 1C so you don’t have to trade major pieces for a guy like Kuzy. Although I will say, I’ve done a Kuzy to the Wild ACGM in the past (although, in it the Wild won Laf since it was way before the draft lottery)

From what I understand Niskanen has been good for them. And honestly I think JVR gets a bad wrap. He’s overpaid sure but he’s still pretty productive and a very good presence on the PP
