The team that does that will live to regret that contract. I don’t think he’s worth anything over $8-9 mil and that’s pushing it. He’s lucky the market is what dictates his pay and not as much his play because he is nowhere near a $10 mil player.

Couldn’t agree more, the flat cap will definitely play a role in how much he gets this offseason. I could also see him taking a shorter deal, maybe 2-3 years, with a contender around 8.5 a season. I think he just wants to win at this point.

Either way, no one is going to offer him that so it’s a moot point. They’ll have an extension locked up by then or he will be negotiated with as a UFA. The takes about the QO being a dealbreaker are stupid.

Meir and lindholm are very similar I don’t know why either team would want to do this trade and at the same time I think the trade is fine value, and the QO is not a deal breaker because most teams would have a long term contract In place before that QO was necessary.
