Chevy doesn't even finish his offer and the Isles hang up the phone. They can do so many more things to save cap space rather than trading their #1 RD. I don't even really want to move Pulock for Connor or Ehlers. But that, at minimum, must be coming back for us to even consider it.

Not sure you gave enough to CGY and NYI. Hamonic and edmunson can’t play together. We already got bigger with edmunson and pulock, just resign DeMelo and play him with edmundson.

Re read this trade...Pionk is a top RD too...just on a cheaper contract...he actually played better than Pulock in terms of points this year too...The only main difference is the size...Which we need.

Yeah I know what you mean about the CGY trade, but I think they’re pretty loaded on d prospects, looks like they need forwards a lot more. You’re not off on value I think just needs.

As for the NYI, trade I think that pulock is 2x the dman Pionk is. Pionk got a lot of his points on the PP. idk I think you’d need to add a B prospect to that deal.

Maybe i am overvaluing Pionk but if it wasn't for his size, I would not trade him...Pulock is a fine RD but its not like he is a top RD in the league...he is a stable guy that gets 40 points a season...

I also think Pulock is a much better all round Dman than Pionk... but regardless look at NYI situation right now. They are rolling and love the way Pulock plays. You’d have to overpay x2 to get him out of Long Island.
Biggest issue I have with AGM... try to meet the other teams needs at least a tiny bit, while you may be somewhat close on value you are out to lunch if you think NYI would even consider it based on where they’re at.

Calgary is full of Adam Lowry's and left shot D men, zero need for that trade whatsoever. It's an okay package but Calgary isn't going to significantly downgrade at C and fill up the LD pipeline to get a 1st.

One of Connor/ehlers must be in the trade if we’re trading pulock. Just because the isles have cap issues doesn’t mean that they’re going to trade their #1RD for a downgrade.

But Pionk isn't really a downgrade...It helps NYI with an offensive RD but making little so you can sign Barzal...

He is though - not everything is about points. Luca sbisa was better at driving play offensively than pionk this season. Pionk was great on the powerplay, that’s it.

Pulock drives play offensively in a defensive minded system playing against elite competition, he’s great defensively, and has one of the best point shots in the league.

Neal Pionk is not a #1D man on this planet we call Earth. I'll take it a step further, Pelech-Pulock is arguably a top-10 pairing in the NHL thanks to Trotz's system. Perfect balance of offense and stay at home defense. That pair will be critical to the success of the Isles for the next 5-7 years. Not breaking that up. Sorry man this trade isn't remotely close.

Leddy can be dealt. Ladd likely LTIR bound. Can move a mid round pick (or Bellows) to shed some mid size contracts like Leo/Hickey. Isles are not in as deep of trouble as you are presenting

As you can tell but that pulock trade is a no go from the Isles, but also in my opinion, Monahan wouldn’t be a good fit and I would genuinely rather keep Heinola.

No it’s just that monahan really isn’t as good as everyone thinks. He has been carried by Johnny hockey for a long time, Cirelli or Domi or better and would be cheaper then Monahan.
