Trying to upgrade CBJ top-6

Created by: benjgc
Team: 2020-21 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 24, 2020
Published: Aug. 24, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Apologies in advance if any of this is way off of reality. This is the first time I've really taken a stab at this sort of thing. All constructive criticism is appreciated. (Edited to appropriately assign scratches.)

Vancouver: Persistent rumors about Canucks/Benning wanting to move Boeser. Anderson would be cheaper for Vancouver, who have the scoring depth to take a chance like this, and Murray is a nice addition for their blue line. VV also a good goalie prospect, enabling them to move Demko in a separate deal.
Buffalo: Sabres looking to win soon, and build around Eichel. Wennberg a good change-of-scenery candidate.
NY Islanders: Ho-Sang hasn't earned favor in NY, and Harrington represents a depth piece at D once they buy out or trade Leddy.

I think both teams so no.
Wennberg is a buyout candidate who wouldn’t really help the Sabres.
And Mittelstadt isn’t the right player for Torts system.

That doesn't even come close to Boeser

WTH IS THAT BOESER TRADE! A pile of garbage and a winger who has lost value will not get you a third and freaking Boeser. The most that probably gets you is a 2nd and maybe a 3rd while Boeser alone is worth a 1st, a 2nd, a great prospect, and a decent roster player

Like I said, new to this sort of thing. Though I disagree with you on Anderson's value; he's worth more than a 2nd on his own. And Murray (or, alternatively, Savard) are valuable pieces. Tried to explain my rationale up top.

Wennberg would need more cap retained, and something better than Nutivaara coming back. D is the last thing Buffalo needs to address. Especially if Sanderson drops to them

Don't think Sanderson would be a straight-to-the-league guy, though, right? If we cleared Wennberg and picks from both sides, would Savard and a late pick do it for Mittelstadt? Also not sure why he'd be a bad fit for Torts, as mentioned above... not like he can't play hard.

Let’s just put it this way.... for one reason or another each trade is rejected. Vancouver declines the Boeser trade, Buffalo and Columbus reject that trade and Ho-sang is going to the KHL. We don’t want him.

People think he will be and his collegiate division has no plan in place for a season yet

A 2nd line winger, 2nd pairing D man, and high level goalie prospect doesn't feel that far off from Boeser to me.

Anderson is barely a 3rd line winger on the Canucks, and they have no need for goalie prospects considering they have Dipietro. If the Canucks trade Boeser they're going to want quality, not quantity.

That's just silly. Anderson is a 25 goal scorer if he's healthy (which is assumed in any ACGM that a team actually trades for him)
If Boeser is dealt in a trade, Anderson is the 2nd or 3rd best winger on the team, behind Miller and then maybe Pearson.
