Think there was already some agreement in place with he and the Pens that he'd play in Sweden next year and the Leafs are going to follow through on that.

I don't think so, but there's a chance, I'd put it around 25% on PIT at least, idk about who he could potentially beat out in TOR

I might be wrong but I think he has a contract in the SHL until 2021 so he would be able for the 2021-2022 season (I think). Unless he buys out his contract but I mean I don't think the leafs need him right away.

Can we stop trading for Larsson all the time. Players who block a tonne of shots, do so because they never have the puck. I'd sooner get players who have the puck a lot and keep it away from the opposition.

There are two things

Could he make the Leafs? I think he could

Should he make the Leafs? I think he should not. He had a shorter season due to injuries, so it would not hurt him to get a full SHL season under his belt as a 20 year old

Doubt if he would be NHL ready even if he available. A year in the AHL either in 20/21 or 21/22 is needed.

Oilers decline. Larsson might be the Oil's best dman. Giving up him AND Puljujärvi is too much. Leafs add

Probably not. NHL teams are sending a lot of prospects over to Euro clubs because of the late start in north america next season. If Hallander already had a contract signed in Sweden theres no reason to think it will include the NHL out clause these other guys have.

He signed with his Swedish club, if hes not in the NHL he'll be in Sweden. Wouldnt count on him being on Toronto next year anyway

You're right....some stats are so misleading. Year and year the players with the most turnovers are better players who are giving the responsibility of handling the puck regularly. When Leafs Jake Gardiner had a lot more turnovers than Roman Polak.
"Hits" another one. Yea a team might have more hits than there opponents, because they don't have the puck.
"Shots on net". One team goes zero for five on the PP, but get 15 shots on net. The other team goes two for five on the PP but gets 9 shots on net. Reading stats at the end of the night you might think the losing team (the one with no PP goals) were just as good offensively as the winning team due to the misleading shots on goals stats.

Stats that actually mean something are possession and xG%, they are trackable and don't take linemates and systems into play as much as some of the newer stats like GAR and stuff like that. You can track how many high danger chances a guy allows while on the ice

while we're at it can we stop trading Kerfoot, he has good underlying numbers and produce at a decent clip at 5v5. leafs center depth outside of JT and Matthews is thin.

Totally! Kerfoot is going to have a bounce back season next year. I am not sure he's ever going to be a big point getter but he's really good defensively and really fast. Surprisingly good along the boards for a smaller guy as well. I hope we can get Loughton from Philly though and then Kerfoot can move up if need be in case of injury.
