No reasonable. Larkin is hometown boy, face of the Wings and pretty good player who is getting better. He is a player to use as a building block.

For those reasons and we do not have a center other then him that is a no

A 20 year old center that is getting better.
A top 4 defenseman and PP qb
A bottom 6 21 year old player.
And a draft pick.

For a team that needs a lot of pieces. Perhaps you add another prospect, but I think that’s more than reasonable for a guy that’s not a point per game player.

No, from Detroit. I’d wager DeAngelo isn’t Yzerman’s cup of tea since he already traded him. Howden and a 3rd is mute point for us and Chytil hasn’t shown enough to warrant consideration.

Fair point forgot Yzerman was back in Detroit. Chytil is 20 and he’s done enough. He’s not a number 1 center but certainly a number 2. He’s not transcendent, but neither is Larkin. I get Red Wings fans being close to Larkin, but they’re the worst team in the league.

We already have two young centers with potential in Rasmussen & Veleno. Larkin provides a complete 200ft game and ideally would be an elite 2C on a contender. Just because we suck doesn’t mean we’d make trades that aren’t beneficial to us and this isn’t a need for us. Considering what I already posted plus our one strength at the moment is RD (Hronek, Seider, Lindstrom). This move would leave Filppula as our 1C.

Well Chytil would be your number 1 honestly. I get it though. I know Hronek seems to look solid and Seider has a lot of hype. Just think getting 2 guys that would be 50 point scorers would
Be something that would interest the wings. I suppose Georgiev might help a little, not sure of your goalie situation.

Having Chytil as a 1C doesn’t sound great at all considering he’d be comparable to Rasmussen. He also doesn’t have great possession numbers while being sheltered offensively. So we’d be doing a massive downgrade for players that don’t hold too much value to us.

He is still one of the fastest skaters in the league. AA only was only about a half stride ahead of him when they raced.
