Interesting deal for Colorado. I'm tempted. But depends on how Liljegren is looking. How NHL ready is he? And what's his upside?

How about Jost for Andersen? That seems about equal value. A Jost/Timmons for Andersen/Liljegren would likely need a small add from TOR.

ready to fill in for injuries this year, but NHL regular likely in 21-22. Drafted as an offensive D, he's really become a more defensively responsible guy, while still putting up good offensive numbers. The scouts say he'll be a defensively sound top 4 D that can move the puck and skate well. May not rack up points the same as he did in AHL and in Junior, but will be very effective all over the ice. I personally think he'll be a really good 2nd pair D, with upside to be a very effective top pair D.

He's going to be a good player. Not an offensive force but a two way guy who is responsible defensively and has all the tools to move the puck out of danger. This proposed trade is not good. It's Liljegren for Timmins which is a wash and then Jost for Andersen which is not remotely fair.

I doubt that Liljegren will never amount to anything more than a lower pairing guy to be honest. The Leaf-Fan hype for him is always overblown on here.

As a Leafs fan, I would make that trade in a heartbeat. (The Colorado one).

If he's that much of a sure thing to be a 2RHD doesn't this trade seem kinda lopsided in favour of Colorado? I mean Timmins is good but is the difference between him and Liljegren really big enough to warrant trading Andersen for Jost? I don't watch much of Liljegren so I honestly don't know what his value is. Also worth considering that Timmins has had health issues.

I mean he's not a "sure thing", but I'm pretty confident that that is what he'll be. I wouldn't do it if I was Toronto because I think the difference isn't very big between Timmins and Liljegren. Only considerable thing for TOR is that if you think Timmins is better, which could definitely be argued, or if you think he's NHL ready this year, that's another ELC contract. But I wouldn't do it personally.

Timmins played in game 5 and 6 for us in the playoffs so I think it's pretty clear that he's NHL ready.

I think the Avs would accept.

McCann for Kerfoot, Dermott

Kerfoot is $3.5M, you have McCann signing for $2.75M. Why wouldn't the Penguins just keep the better and cheaper McCann? (The Penguins have a boat load of 3rd pair, 6/7D, so Dermott doesnt bridge).

When you say get a number one goalie on a good contract that would imply there is term on the contract which is not the case. Not saying it’s a bad deal still think it’s good but your kinda misleading with that part.

Hence why i added that the benefit for Colorado is them not having to sign a goalie to long contract this year, then having to expose Francouz to Seattle. This gives them 1 good year of Andersen..they can protect which ever goalie they feel is the best...and then can go out and sign whomever they want, potentially being Andersen.

echoing above, McCann only moves to solve a need (3C or RD), Kerfoot isn't any more capable as a 3C so it's a pass
