I'd rather have Neilson less term.

Detroit would rather the worse player on a shorter contract than the better player on a longer contract as they aren't competitors for the next 2 years anyways.

Plus Nielsen costs less than his cap hit.

They might do Abdelkader for Neal.

I’d rather keep Neal he produces very well on pp. your going to loose in any questionable contract type of trade. Think oilers fans should just appreciate how much better off are with him instead of lucic. Term is somewhat limited and options will present themselves once another year is used up.

You are right but there is no reason for Detroit to accept this trade.

Neal is better but Nielsen has less term. Personally I’d rather just keep Nielsen but thanks for bringing up an original interesting idea

How am I missing the 1st going back to the wild. Cause otherwise that is an atrocious 1 sided deal and you should be fired for proposing it.

1st going to the wild? I was thinking that was missing a lot coming to oilers. JP has a lot more value than people like to admit. Jones is a very promising prospect oilers aren’t giving them away

well in this scenario you have the wild giving away greenway and a 2nd.

No is a guy that clearly had a shot and couldn’t make it in the nhl and Caleb Jones has basically zero value for the wild. Theres 4 of him in their system outside the top 2 d pairs and 20 that can be had at league minimums. So they are both basically worthless to the wild. They might be fine players just nothing the wild would trade for at all. So still throwing away greenway and a 2nd.

Think your view on jp is rather mistaken. He showed to be just fine as a 3rd liner and that was while playing broken and exclusively with lucic that completely drained any production from everyone paired with. Healthy there is no reason to bet against him as a top six forward.
