If you package up two players that are roughly worth 7th round picks each, that doesn't equal a 3rd round pick.

Why would the Bruins want Andersen?

They already have Rask and Halak

Plus Johnsson is better than Duclair

Funnily enough its actually very close. The difference is about 5% of one of those players playing more than 99 games. Odds for draft picks fall very quickly after the 2nd round.

I'm sure that's true in theory, but no one is going to trade a 3rd round pick for two 7ths. Using last summer's draft as an example, here's the cost of one 3rd round pick:

"The Chicago Blackhawks' third-round pick went to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Buffalo's fourth-round pick, Tampa Bay's fifth-round pick and a seventh-round pick all in 2019 (98th, 151st and 207th overall)."

The Kings aren't giving up a 3rd (which turns into a 2nd if Clifford re-signs) for two replacement-level players.

We have no need for, or interest in, Martin Marincin or Calle Rosen; I doubt we would pick either of them up off the waiver wire.

Marincin and rosen arent going to give you more than a special pair of waxed skate laces and a jockstrap i found in the bottom of my hockey bag once.

Duclair would be a nice addition IMO.

Duclair with 23 goals, while getting paid 1.65 million and who for line mates? Vs 3.4 million Johnsson with 8 goals (only 3 even strength goals) while playing on a line with Matthews, and basically worthless at even strength. But yeah, Johnsson is better. (insert eye roll here)

I'd say rasks future in Boston is tenuous at best but not sure an inter division trade would happen .

Look at it under context my guy

Johnsson was injured for a majority of the year
He scored 20 goals last year
Torts didnt want Duclair because of his work ethic
Duclair is awful defensively while Johnsson's defense is pretty average
