People need to realize Monahan is a 2C. That being said, depends on how much CGY values him. If they feel like Lindholm-Backlund can be their no1-2, they could move him.

There needs to be a decent add by Minnesota in picks or prospects to make this happen plus Calgary would have to commit to a rebuild. Which I dont think is in the cards this offseason.

People can think what they want about Monahan, but the reality is the Flames are incredibly thin at C. They can't trade Monahan unless a C is coming back.

Backlund is 31, regression is inevitable and I don't think the Flames view Lindholm as a C, it's been 2 seasons and he's spent 80% of it as an RW.
