Why would Detroit help the Isles dump cap for a worthless 5th rd pick? 2.5M/2yrs is gonna cost you a 2nd, maybe only a 3rd if you're lucky.

Boychuk is easier to dump to teams because of his lack of actual salary but it’s still gonna cost more than that for sure

The reason the Kings would take on Komarov in addition to Leddy is to avoid having giving up a high-round pick. Take Komarov out of the trade and the Kings might go for it. Otherwise change the draft pick going back to NY to a 6th.
