I don’t get the Krug trade at all; why would Det trade for him when he’s a UFA? And why would Krug sign a 3x7.5 when he can make much more on the market? He already said he wants top dollar, hence why he closed the door on Bos already.

If Krug wants to come to Detroit he can sign as a UFA. We’re not giving anything for him

How did you value Krug’s UFA rights? Has a player ever received this high of compensation for UFA rights?

Nobody will trade a 2nd for Krug's rights but Svechnikov-Pastrnak is a garbage comparison.

So it's garbage for Detroit to give up what is basically a late 1st for Krugs right, If Krug comes home we're signing him for free.

The only way a deal makes sense for Krug's rights is if DET/Krug want to do an 8yr deal. Even if that was the case I can't imagine getting anything more than a 3rd or 4th

No it's pretty much the exact same level of WTF.

Bruins could stand pat but they will do it after exhausting searches through trades and UFA signings.

It makes me optimistic that even if the bruins aren't a cap team and do nothing this offseason, this lineup looks really solid. Just missing a LHD, but honestly keeping Moore wouldn't be the end of the world for the third pair if Vaakanainen/Lauzon/Zboril can't handle it yet
