Carlson is a fantastic player, but not the player for the leafs. Respectfully decline

Top pairing RHD is exactly what the leafs need

Carlson with Muzzin would be deadly. He was on pace for 89 points I would kindly disagree but to each their own

A Norris finalist on a team with little defence would be huge. Especially at his respectable contract.

Finished #2 in the Norris voting. 89 point pace. Top pairing RHD on a very very fair contract? I’d say it’s exactly what they need lol

If he played with Muzzin yes but I think he mean that it's not the guy for Reilly, but then again you could just get a cheap defensive guy to play with Reilly like Matt Roy from LA or just sign Demelo or Gudas

A defensive 1#RHD Carlson is more offense than defense the leafs only need defensive minded d men at this point

Adding Carlson would take a ton of pressure off the GM to resign MR if he wants way too much money.

It's not what we need. We have enough point producers, we need shot blockers and guys who box out the net.

Carlson and Muzzin AGAIN would be one of the best pairings in the NHL. Sign DeMelo to play withMR AND you have a scary team

Or we keep the younger d man who could also be capable of getting to those point totals at some point and sign him to the same contract. I think that makes a little more sense

I don't disagree, but I just don't think our top six can take a hit like that while still having to dumpster dive for depth. It would make more sense if the deal had the leafs shedding more cap than they take on

I'm not saying it isn't fair value wise, in fact I think you can get more. If it was marner and a second rounder I would hit the that was easy button. It's good logic.

There isn’t a single player in the TML organization that can touch Carlson abilities besides maybe MR. MR MIGHT cost you 12m/ year. You have a 4 year window to win before Matthews leaves ... keep playing “young guy”. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of .......?

That is also true yes. Is it a trade Dubas would make? Ya I think so. How about the Capitals? Eh I'm not too sure, depends on how they view Ovechkin and his next contract and maybe on how they want to proceed with Oshie.

I'd pass. He'll be 31 to start next season and he's not really what the Leafs need - not that their D doesn't get better by adding him, but there are specific things they are/should be looking for in a potential RD acquisition, imo, and Carlson doesn't quite fit that bill and they could get someone who does for cheaper than this.

Oshie will be going to Seattle imo. Doubt they trade Carlson since he’s a Norris finalist but I would absolutely do this trade if it was my team

Moving Danault or Domi only happens if Berge gets something of need in return. We want to compete we don’t want pieces that are 2-3 years away. We have centre depth and prospects this trade doesn’t offer enough value.

MR will not cost 12 mill a year lol nobody will give him 12 mill that's absurd even I (the leafs fan) think that's insane

Protas is more than likely going to be a winger. Eller fills the 3c position PD currently fills. IMO this absolutely gets him. Protas had an amazing this year caps give a 1st and a roster player who is a similar style player as PD ( not as good but great to have on the roster)

Really? He’s a UFA once the cap goes up. Let’s even say he asks for 10-10.5 million leafs will struggle to pay him imo. Teams will pay to get a talented D man

We’re not trading both Danault and Domi so we don’t need a 3C. It’s not a terrible trade but I just don’t think it’s what we will see happen. Berge is good at pulling off 1 for 1 deals. Danault should bring in a legit NHL winger and that’s what we need and would want so we can battle for a playoff spot.

I think Domi is gone before the draft and if Montreal is gonna miss the playoffs they move Danault for value.

I think I'd rather send Spurgeon to TOR in a deal for Nylander (if they're interested)

Honestly applaud

That's what I was thinking on pitrangelo cause let's face it if dubas gets him rielly is gone but Muzzin-pitrangelo could be scary
