He's a gritty defensive player with great leadership skills. I think he'd make a big difference. Or I'd try to reaquire Connor Brown from Ottawa.

Brown is way way better. I think the isles would be happy to give you him for free given their cap situation.

he's not that player anymore, and connor brown isnt very good either

I'm not looking for elite players, just looking for something relatively cheap with speed and penalty killing capabilities.

Komarov doesnt do any of that and connor brown is decidedly mediocre at all of that.

Deal is fair. Getting an elite winger whose 23 and could win a scoring title one day vs. 30 year old elite dman. I'll throw in a second and 4th rounder.

Philly fans were just freaking out over how bad they thought a Hart for Filip Forsberg, 11th overall, and two 2nds proposal was, in another AGM. This offer isn't nearly as good.

Carter Hart is the goalie they've been waiting for since Ron Hextall. They're not parting with him unless they get the world in return.

If I gave Sandin and a second in the deal would you go for it?

That's Andersen, Sandin, Liljegren, 15th overall pick, second rounder, and SDA.

Marner isn't elite, he just gets paid like it. He doesn't get you the best defenseman in hockey.

You don't trade 22 year old starting goalies for soon to be 31 year old starting goalies with 4x as much cap hits without significant return. Also because young, quality, club-controlled starting goalies that have had arbitration delayed for 2 years because of a couple entry level slides will cost you multiple first round picks.

Did you even look to see how much cap space Philly has with how many roster spots they need to re-sign/sign? If you did, you'd never even consider this trade.

Can you list off all the under 24 year olds with a 90+ point season and a season where he was on pace for 90 points? Totally not elite at all. Don't be a hopeless Homer fool. Yes you have the current Norris winner but disrespecting Marner just makes you look foolish.

I'm not a Philly fan, but that's still not as good as Forsberg, 11th, and two 2nds (which frankly is much worse for NSH than it is for Philly, but I get why Flyers fans want to hold onto Hart so badly).

You can argue that he won't get Josi, but you can't argue that he's one of the best wingers in hockey.
