Turris is 2 years younger and has a better contract structure (they save $1m and don't need to pay any bonuses) + he doesn't have a NMC that requires protection in the expansion draft -- Zucc and Turris had comparable production this season but Turris was stuck on the 4th line as opposed to Zucc -- MIN needs centers much more than wingers -- the contracts have the same cap hit and term.

There are many reasons why MIN would be interested. I don't want the deal as a NSH fan, but the deal is constantly mentioned on this site for the reasons stated above.

So the turris zuccarello sea would super bad for mn. Turris just isn’t nearly as good a center as an under producing zuccarello.

Sharks have no interest. If we trade Couture we need someone younger but almost as productive coming back

Zucc didn't fit at all last year in MN. He's a better player than Turris, but older with a NMC (eats a protection slot in the expansion draft). I want nothing to to with Turrin in MN, but I want less to do with Zucc.

The trade could end up working for both teams, or neither of them. It's just a garbage in, garbage out for both teams.

I just don’t know how this helps us. The only scenario where we trade Couture is one where we shed a fair bit of cap or get a better player back. Neither of those needs are even remotely addressed here.

Not sure why the Sharks would trade Couture.

With Koivu not returning, MIN's top centers are M. Johansson, V. Rask, N. Bjugstad, and Joel Eriksson Ek. All of which have been stuck around 30 points or so for 3 or so seasons. Turris would be a reasonable gamble. Turris managed 31 points mainly playing with 4th line quality wingers. i think given a proper chance he'd get back to the 50 points of the 17-18 season. MIN needs centers and NSH needs wingers. This is why Zuc for Turris makes some sense. Bad thing is Zucs trade protection.... i really don't want anything to do with that.

Domi will cost more then that... but also why trade Bonino and Turris and then put Domi as 3C. Domi (like Turris) needs to be 2C or even 1C in a pinch to really flourish. Bonino is an ideal 3C and once Turris is gone it doesn't really make sense to trade him unless the team falls out of contention at the deadline.
