Need help in AHL. Expect them to get a mid pick + prospects max.

I don't see any trades but San Jose has kicked the tires on both Dubnyk and Donato not sure what a trade really looks like for these 2.

Dubnyk is most certainly gone. You’re right on the fact that they’ve talked which is why I made this. Think it’s an okay fit since Sharks have the cap space, won’t have to send a contract back.

Braun + Brodzinski signed is because of rumor that Wild are targeting MN born players. Want more home grown talent

The 4th line would be the 2nd line within 3 games.

Neither of the UFAs make sense to sign.

Read the above post..

And no definitely not lol. Kaprizov, Zucc playing without the third forward is better than the fourth line and it isn’t close. Hartman and Foligno aren’t top 6 forwards

Zucc is a blackhole, and Kaprizov hasn't done anything yet (and probably never will if saddled with the anchor of Zucc). That's a line where Bjugstad might be the best player on it to start the season and that's even if he's on IR.

That JEE line would get the other team's top lines and shut them down (and be a + line while doing it), so yes they would be the 2nd line.

You don't trade Donato to dump Dubnyk and get an AHL RD back. You trade Donato to someone who values him as the potential top 6, 25 goal scoring winger he is, and you ask for something similar back.

Guerin himself said the Wild looking for more home grown talent is completely false. Just to help spread the word.

Yeah that’s 100% not happening. When it does you won’t get that back. Not even close.

Guerin shot down that rumor pretty quickly. I don't know who reported to but it's not true at all.

It's in a podcast on The Athletic, I'll find it hang on.

Edit: even better, here's a transcript

"[Guerin] On putting to rest this notion that has gained legs this offseason that there’s some edict from an owner from Wisconsin who wants nothing more than to win a Stanley Cup that the team needs to acquire more Minnesotans:

“Let me be clear, I don’t care where a guy’s from. I couldn’t care less if he’s from Minnesota, Massachusetts, Michigan, California or Moscow. I don’t care. I want the best players that we can get. And if he happens to be from Bloomington, Minnesota, then so be it. And if not, then no problem. I don’t care where a person’s from. … It’s funny how these stories start. I don’t know where they start, but that’s just not the case.”

Thanks. I still think Braun is a good fit if they want to go that direction, especially if Dumba is moved at some point but we’ll see

Brodzinski I just picked since he’s a MN born and can play multple positions C/RW.

I mean the contract you signed Braun to is a lot... we have an extremely deep RD prospect pool, I'd rather just rely on Belpedio or Addison to battle for that spot and save the $3M. Can't say I have an opinion on Brodzinski, he's just a depth player.

It is but if Dumba is moved they really don’t have anyone else. Need as much help on defense as possible even with Dumba staying for Kahkonen and Stalock as the netmnders.

I really don’t think Addison is ready yet and Menell is gone. Thought they’d keep Soucy

JEE/Foligno got that duty most of last year and had the best +/- of any FWDs on the team. They had 2nd line 5v5 scoring numbers too.

Pateryn? He's fine on the 3rd pairing and Brodin can carry his partner on the 2nd pairing so I'm not worried about the 2nd pairing at all. Remember we still have Spurgeon and Suter, those 3 are incredible defensively if we do trade Dumba, plus Foligno is fantastic in his own zone, and Ek, Sturm, and Kunin are both great as well. I just think it would be a bad idea to tie up nearly $34M into our blue line.

Lol plus minus.. come on man.

Eriksson Ek is a 3C, Foligno is a below average third liner. Don’t get me started on Hartman. If that’s what your team is rolling out good luck, Minnesota will continue to be a dumpster fire

Really don’t like Pateryn. Not sure why they gave him that much, he’s a weak bottom pairing dman. Suter/Brodin/Spurgeon help a lot but if the other three are Hunt/Pateryn/Addison or a cheap fill in.. would think they’re going to struggle. Especially with instability in net, weak down the middle, etc.

Agree to disagree then but I think signing a 33 year old bottom pairing player for $3.5M is not a good idea

On the team +/- means something. They had the toughest matchups, and their scoring was fine. JEE is right there with Geztlaf, Bergeron, Dvorak, Domi for 5v5 points in less ToI than all of them (except Bergeron). Foligno was right there with Wilson, Debricat, Rakel, Zucker for 5v5p in less ToI.

Swap Hartman with Kaprizov (and he does things), Kunin, or Fiala and that is a good 2nd line.

Pateryn got that much to be Spurgeon's replacement for 10 games a year when he's injured and be a 3rd pair guy the other 70 games.. I don't care if MN keeps him or not for next year. He's fine as a bottom-pair/PKer when he's healthy. I'd rather give Soucy the same contract you gave Braun.

Hunt is the d-man I want nowhere near the lineup. He's fine as a pressbox guy that you can play at either RD/LD or FWD in a pinch, but he's useless outside of the PP if he's scoring. If he's not scoring on the PP he's a hazard.

I want to see Belpedio get a chance before bringing in any outside players. MN has lost enough d-men through waivers or late pick trades over the years because they can't get playing time.
