Description

I Imagine you have to retain some Toews pay. Also this adds plenty of trade deadline bait to get more picks. Keep Kubalik low in the lineup to keep his stats down. Now it’s two years left of Kane and trade him away. Hope to over pay McDavid soon. Who knows, hawks hockey is chaotic at this point. Also We avoid rushing Mitchell into the league.

A good Toews to Carolina trade would have to be:
Toews for Staal + good prospect + 1st round pick

Fair...I suppose it would take away from moving Necas up through the lineup if the plan is to keep him as a C too...

This is bad for CAR but also the Hawks. If they can’t or don’t resign Dzingel and Hamilton who are both on1 year left and IFA status then the trade is literally Toews for a 1st. WHAT?!

So many of these Toews trade proposals are based on his past value - he is a 33 yr old with a $10.5M cap hit for 3 more years. A very attractive piece but some of these proposals I see on this site are as if they were trading for 28 year old Jonathan Toews!

If you trade Toews you almost have to pair Kubalik with Kane. In which case Kubalik becomes another unaffordable Hawks player who Stan Bowman trades for old hawks players who Stan Bowman is gonna trade for not much at all. Justtttt saying Hawks ACGMs gotta account for the “Bowman Factor”

Also this is a Fansided article suggestion not mine. If you ask me, keep Toews and Kane for as long as you can. If they don’t win another cup that’s fine. I watched them raise Lord Stanley three times. If they mentor young players to be better then I’m all for it.
