I am totally against getting either Kane and Toews. Not because they are not good cause they are both still very very good. My problems with trading for either of them is 1. Cap hit puts us in the same boat as Toronto, Tampa and Arizona. 2. The price to acquire either one would be too high. I would rather give the team a 15 year window with all the players/prospects/picks required to get one or both than only have a 2-4 year window with them.

So taking out the players with relatively little value, we’re looking at Drouin, Primeau, a 1st, & 2 2nds. If the hawks were willing to move him, that might be close to getting Kane at his full contract, but at 50% retained + Toews at 50% retained that’s not even close.
