possible marcus pettersson landing spots and trades

Created by: Sid_the_kid_875948
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 29, 2020
Published: Oct. 29, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
PIT
  1. DeBrusk, Jake [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
First up is boston, now debrusk is a guy that we could go after if we are looking to get younger like GMJR said. We could move a guy like zucker who isnt gonna grow anymore to bring in a guy like debrusk who will grow and will carry a cheaper price.
BOS
  1. Pettersson, Marcus
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Boston gets top 4 young LD that can grow as well, they only have grzelcyk on the LD plus maybe moore so it would help them on the left side.
2.
PIT
  1. Mittelstadt, Casey [RFA Rights]
  2. 2021 6th round pick (BUF)
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Next up is Buffalo. Buffalo is a team full of young players so adding another wouldn't hurt them at all. Pettersson would be the 2nd line LD behind dahlin in that top 4. They give up Mittelstadt who didn't grow with Buffalo and gives him another chance in Pitt.
BUF
    Pettersson, Marcus

Adding Mittelstadt brings youth to the team like GMJR said we needed. Now people think that this is stupid because Mittelstadt wasn't very good on Buffalo, he can grow in Pitt around a team that has experience and elders to teach him.
    3.
    PIT
    1. Rasmussen, Michael
    Additional Details:
3rd on the list is Detroit. Detroit traded for Marc Staal a few weeks back (probably more) to add depth. Adding Pettersson would be a great young addition to the team pairing him with hronek. Seider maybe has one more year to develop before he gets a chance in the line-up so adding pettersson for the time being would help there top 4. (add picks on either side)
    DET
      Pettersson, Marcus

Adding Rasmussen would be a great fit for the team. He is a young future top 6 that could play with Malkin and even Crosby. We have so much LD moving Pettersson, yes would hurt us, but not as much as most people think since we have 4 LD plus POJ who has to earn a spot. (add picks on either side)
      4.
      PIT
      1. Hagelin, Carl
      2. 2021 2nd round pick (WSH)
      3. 2022 4th round pick (WSH)
      Additional Details:
4th on the list is Washington. Washington recently lost a pretty good LD in Matt Niskanen. Matt Niskanen was pretty good and fro him to retire this earlier is astonishing. Adding Pettersson would add youth that they need to win another cup (not that i want them to). On the left side for Washington as of right now is (all the LD) Brenden Dillon, Alexander Alexeyev, Martin Fehervary, Tobias Geisser, Lucas Johnasen, Michael Kempny, Bobby Nardella, Cameron Schilling, Jonas Siegenthaler, and finnaly Sebastian Walfridsson.
      WSH
        Pettersson, Marcus

Reuniting with Hagelin will help us enormously. He brings that speed that we had in 2016 to win the cup. He might have not done anything really offensively, but was sure as hell put pressure on the opposing team.
        5.
        PIT
        1. Roslovic, Jack [RFA Rights]
        2. 2022 3rd round pick (WPG)
        Additional Details:
Finnally the last team in the thread is Winnipeg. As you know Winnipeg has lost ALOT of good defense-man on the team including Jacob Trouba, Bustin Byfuglien, and Tyler Myers. Adding Pettersson would add the defense that they need to make a cup run. Putting him the the top 4 with either Niku or Pionk.
        WPG
          Pettersson, Marcus

Adding a guy like Roslovic to the team would bring young talent. Roslovic is 23 years of age and is still an able to grow player. He had 29 points in 71 games played. He has been healthy and that makes him grow better. He would fit on a line with McCann and tanev.

          Pettersson landing spot.....Pittsburgh.
Only trade there that is any good is BOS. And that probably isn't happening.

WSH is stacked on the left side. Orlov-Dillon-Siegenthaler-Fehervary at the NHL level now with Alexeyev and Nardella coming soon. Also, Niskanen is RHD.

And it's not like Niskanen was on the Caps last year, so it isn't a recent loss like the poster insinuated. He retired with Philly.

I don't think Detroit is ready to trade Rasmussen but I have no idea. What I do know is Holland should have sent him back to the WHL 2 seasons ago he wasn't ready for the NHL and since he had eligibility left in the WHL he could only play in the AHL for conditioning after an injury. Going in to last season it was unlikely he would get up at all. Detroit wanted him to adjust to pro hockey and build up his confidence. He was drafted by Holland and not Yzerman so who knows.

Deal didn't help Boston. They have a enough young LHD and would be trading away one if their better goal scorers
