2 Why would you want Risto?

1. Buffalo desperately needs a winning season and they will fork over picks and prospects to land a top-4 shutdown RHD

2. Ristolainen can eat minutes and put up points. He could be a very solid player with a quality d partner like lindholm or Fowler that he never had an opportunity to play with in Buffalo

jake McCabe is their top 4 shut down defenseman, yes hes a lefty. If they really want a good RD they should throw some money at Slater Koekkoek

Any NHL level defenseman can "eat minutes" its a matter of actually being effective in those minutes, which Risto very much is not.

Sabres value Ristolainen way too highly no chance they trade him and their first round pick.

No chance the Sabres do that, as much hate as Risto gets on here (from me included) at worst his value is equal to Manson

I would take a chance on him for the Isles.

Seems a bit much on Buffalo’s side.
Maybe Risto + a 3rd and a b prospect would be more realistic?
Or even just Risto and a 2nd

Slater Koekkoek is LHD.
He would be an excellent pick up.
He would have been my first defenseman of choice, Pysyk would have been my second.
I do not think Kevyn Adams has the intelligence to go after him.
He over paid Eakin and Girgensons and targeted Irwin and Davidson over much more qualified defensemen.
He is living off the glory that Guerin wanted to dump Staal and Hall or his agent sent a text to Buffalo before the signing could begin.
