MTL
    to Seattle

dont think MTL protects him and eats the crow on a terrible trade. Here's cap relief from a team that can try and make something out of a sharply declining forward
    2.
    MTL
    1. Zacha, Pavel
    Additional Details:
both teams swap project players. I think zacha has a higher ceiling but will require more work to get to it

    1. Mysak, Jan [Reserve List]
    2. 2021 2nd round pick (MTL)
    3. 2021 3rd round pick (CHI)
    Additional Details:
roughly basing this off of the kapanen trade. I think Garland is a better player but the price is a tad less due to the market / the overpay there.

What would it take for drouin to gain the respect of Montreal’s fan base? Honestly asking, 80pts 100pts? And devils say no , just because of who it is it’s a fair trade though 👍🏻

Well, I'm evidently not a MTL fan, but based on his usage and the long term plans - he isn't a 5.5m player and there are more guys in front of him on the depth charts that must be protected. I don't see Seattle being so greatly deterred by the cap hit enough to not see what he can do.

For a fanbase that is known to overrate their assets, it says a lot when they depreciate a guy in value.

Drouin Kotkaniemi Gallagher Anderson Toffoli Lehkonen Evans
Wow who do you protect over Drouin ? Byron ? Vejdemo ? Ok Tatar in this case but still remove Evans for Tatar and we still have a spot for him to be protected. Every Habs fans rather have 5.5M Drouin then 30+ yo Tatar on a 5 years 5.75M contract.

I don’t understand your hate for Drouin, ok he is not playing like a 5.5M player but he is good offensively. We need that offense from him and he’s playing well this year.

This is just ridiculous at this point

Interesting use of bait here. Looks like you may get many bites on your trolling venture.

Drouin is one of our most skilled players right now and constantly one of our best. There are dozens of players that are overpaid by a 1m$ or so, it doesn't mean that they're bad nor Seattle bait

    5.75+

I totally agree though, Drouin looks like he's busting his *** every night out there and I feel like if he gets a full season in he'll be appreciated by fans more.

Devils pass. Zacha has been very solid and has more value than Mete

I'm a big habs fan and don't understand why many québécois hate Drouin...He comes from here and got a lot of skills. People here should let him play instead of constantly criticizing.

I suspect the Devils lothe the idea of breaking up Hischier, Hughes, Zacha & McLeod down the middle. Young, homegrown & complimentary pieces. They all fit different roles well. I'd be surprised if they break that up willingly.

The problem here seems to be you are associating losing a trade with zero value. They are not the same.

Habs lost the Serg/Drouin trade. Not much you can debate on that. Does that mean Drouin is now a bad player? Come on now.....rolling eyes

Hes still a good player and 5.5m for a player of that talent and production is actually pretty fair. (Pre pandemic evaluation that is)

The only real valid thing of contention with Drouin is that he is not a Bergevin/Julien type player. He is miscast with this teams identity but he still can offer value to them. Hes showing it right now as a PPG player all while being relatively invisible overall.

If they do, I would want more for Zacha
