JD & Gorton traded up to get Schneider in this draft & passed up drafting at position of need (center) to pick Schneider. Don't see them flipping him for a 2nd pair LD that doesn't kill penalties.
Im not saying NYR shouldn't be interested in Dunn but not overpay to get him. The guy is now a healthy scratch & playing sheltered minutes if he gets back in the lineup.

Sounds like STL wants a first rounder. (similar ask as the Brady Skjei deal with Carolina) Unless they push that pick out to 2023, don't see NYR parting with a #1.

I honestly don't know why he traded up for Schneider when Zary (a center) was available. We have a surplus of RHD and deficient on LHD. I'd be willing to trade a 2021 1st round pick for Dunn though.

I was also surprised that NYR traded up for Braden Schneider a RHD, with Hendrix Lapierre, Connor Zary & Mavrick Bourque on the board at the Center position.

LHD isn't a bare cupboard with K.Miller & R. Lindgren already in the fold & M.Robertson, L.Hajek, Tarmo Reuneanen & Zac Jones in the pipeline.

Id be hesitant to trade a 2021 1st round pick unless its lottery protected, would move to 2022 if NYR is lottery eligible. The likelihood of this NYR team being playoff bound is .... slim.
To a lesser degree, Dunn would also be another player to protect in the expansion draft.

All very true, however I think LHD is deficient. Lindgren imo isn't a top 4 D and the others (except Miller) worry me.
