He may not be worth $8 mil, but he’s been decent this year. Plus we don’t have any better options at the moment.

    NMC....

Doesn't mean he can't be traded just means that it would be very hard to do.if I'm not mistaken Staal had a NMC just have to find another team willing that he he would ok. Detroit because its his home town or the other two New York teams are what I had in mind

    Move ADA before him.

Look Trouba IS overpaid (by 1,5 mil) but he still provides very good value on the ice every game. Trouba is a keeper for now. I'll wait until Miller, Lundkvist and probably even Schneider are ready for heavy responsibilities before moving him.

One decent defenseman that’s about 1,500,000 overpaid for another

    Two things:
#1) TB has no Cap room for Trouba (barely any cap for a ride on the harbour Pirate Boat), and
    #2) See #1...

1.5-2m is definitely accurate. The issue with trouba and his deal is that Morrissey was the perfect partner and they had great chemistry and that boosted his numbers. Trouba realistically isn’t a shutdown dman, he needs someone who’s solid in their own end to help him roam a bit. As soon as I saw the NMC, I figured NYR were committed to him being there for the whole deal. There’s 0 chance he waives his NMC as he chose the big Apple because of his fiancé.

I mean we could move him to either NYI or NJD lol

But I think we traded for him because we didn't have anyone who could play big minutes on the backend

NMC for a reason. If DET or FLA were contenders, then maybe. Yet these teams don't have 8m in the budget for a 2/3 RD, just like us. Chances are, he & Kreider are here for 4 more years, like it or not.

Yeah you have 2 options, but doubt he's waiving to play on either of those teams. The devils are worse than the rags, and the isles play such a boring game that he would hate. The rags fans just need to accept that they're stuck with trouba.
