Blockbuster 3 team trade

Created by: Propeller09
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 31, 2021
Published: Feb. 1, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I have Bozak with negative value. He doesn't need to be a part of this deal at all other than clearing cap space for STL.

IF he has value, he can be removed and Krejci goes through LA first where they retain 50% - as I think this would also work.

Kopitar for 4 year at that price SCREWS them big time in 2/3/4 years when they have to resign everyone.
Dont want or need McDermot with Lauzon and Zboril both playing well.

So basically you are losing Debrusk, Urho, and Lauzon to downgrade the team and **** them in the future.

Dunno about it. STL might be in for it. Dunn hasn't been playing his best, Bozak is meh and Kostin is a bust. Gaining part retained Krejci for it is a damn steal.

If anything, BOS would never offer this.

Bozak's or Krejeci's M NTC may not include a trade to LA.

The long term outlook for Blues is Dunn and Kostin for Lauzon. Think they pass and trade Dunn for 1st. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just does not work for anyone, not to mention the NTCs.

The first trade is good but the LA Kings thing is a train-wreck. You need to add picks in these trades instead of trying to do it without it. Boston wouldn't care about the 30th pick.

I actually don't think this is true at all. Krejci's and Debrusk money goes to Kopitar. It is three years after this one. this would be more of a deadline deal.

Yes, it hurts them on their d, but they will have 24m remaining to sign players. With the Seattle draft coming, it stops them from losing one of those guys for nothing.
Kase 3m, Ritchie 3m, Rask 6m - 12m would leave them with 12m to sign someone.

They retain their Centers (Beecher, Studnicka) as Kopitar and Bergeron age.

They would have probably the two best defensive centers in the league, Their D would be fine. McDermid aside; wolff, achan, zech all seem like they might be serviceable sooner than later.

It's also my belief Steen and Lauko will be more productive than debrusk.

They would, and they are getting better than picks. Dunn legit dman under control, Vaakainen is the 1st under team control - two top 4 dmen to build around, plus two middle six wingers under control.

As you said, the 30th pick probably isn't special, they would be better off with the younger developed, or an NHL Ready player.

They could eat half of Bozak's contract and deal him for a 2nd or maybe higher pick.

I think thats the problem, you're outcome is based on a lot of hopes. Not necessarily long-shots, but not normal assumptions either if that makes sense.
"Debrusk is a top 6 forward" is a fact
"Studnicka will become a top 6 forward" is a reasonable assumption (might not happen, but most likely will)
"Lauzon will become an Elite dman" is a LONG SHOT (always a chance, but most likely wont happen)

"wolff, achan, zech all seem like they might be serviceable sooner than later"
"It's also my belief Steen and Lauko will be more productive than debrusk"
Those are both hopes, they could happen based on how things are going, but they are not likely by any means.

Going based on what we can reasonably assume right now, this is a really bad move for the bruins.
You lose Debrusk, Urho, and Lauzon to barely upgrade from Krecji, screw urself on cap, and downgrade the defense.

I am not sure you are giving Kopitar his due. He is probably as good as Bergeron.

Maybe he is, maybe he isnt. But he carries a giant cap hit for 4 more years and he could begin to decline.
Think about Louie Erikson and David Backes, bruins have already made the same mistake twice in the past 7ish years, not gonna do it again.

Not worth giving up our entire future (besides studnicka) for a guy that might be good, but might also screw us over.
Thats all there is to it man. Bruins say no way jose

This would give them the best two all around centers in the league for next three years (not four) assuming Bergeron resigns.

To put Kopitar in the same conversation with Erkisson and Backes is ridiculous. He is 10x either of those guys ever was.
He is also not declining. Eriksson wasn't on the decline here. He was 27. He just wasn't that good.
