KK. Ducks need a young top 6 C. But zero chance Comtois is moved to MTL. Nothing MTL has matches up well with the Ducks needs. Young roster players are higher value than Comtois. Also doesn’t make much sense for the ducks to move a 22 yr old.

Young NHL level player that is exempt from the expansion draft. Like Comtois.

Sadly, only Suzuki and Romanov fits the bill from the Habs. And they're not going to get moved.

I don’t really see why we’d trade him, TBH. He’s been pretty solid, especially considering the teams lacklustre offence.

I’d jokingly say Caufield, only because I want to see the bromance with Zegras continue, but meh.

My esteemed colleagues covered this one. Comtois is expansion-draft-exempt, which is important to us since we have about 9 forwards we have to choose from in exposing 2 to Seattle. Moreover, on a severely offensively-challenged team, he thinks Shoot First, and he looks like he could develop into a real sniper. Bottom line: I don't think we're trading him, but then again, we traded the only other guy on the big roster like him (Ondrej Kase), so what do I know.

Only players worth our time with Comtois is Suzuki Romanov or KK. I know Habs won’t want to move any of those three, so

I wonder why people left out Caufield. They are both snipers, 1st round pick (Comtois 2nd), ED exempted...

I get he is smaller and younger, but still a good core for a trade.

To be honest, I don’t think the expansion draft is of any concern for the Ducks these days. I can’t fathom a scenario where Henrique or Milano are protected. Or Shattenkirk and Manson for that matter. At least at this point in time.

As the rest of the Ducks fans above me have said, there really isn’t a deal that would make sense for both sides, Comtois is probably the least likely of our young NHLers to be moved (Him, Terry, Steel, Jones)
