Kerfoot is way better than Virtanen and a 2nd is worth more than Bennet

I think the trades are fair or close. Don’t want Virtanen though.

Don't like the Virtanen trade for Toronto, and the Bennett trade for Calgary.

Bennett is not a good centre. No way the Leafs put in him at 3C and lose Kerfoot
I understand why Calgary fans prefer Bennett over Engall. But it's not really good for Leafs either adding. 1.3 in cap, for marginally better player.
Fact is Leafs don't need two wingers, while trading only one.
Can't anymore trade Bennett to any other team? Seemingly not. Bennett for Virtanen might be a fair trade.

My thinking is kerfoot and engvall together are only 350k less than Bennett and virtanen. They both play a little bigger and tougher than the guys we're trading. And I think I'd put Thornton at 3c when he's back and move Bennett to the wing. Plus its likely one of those guys gets picked by Seattle

Not accepting if Engvall is coming back

Engvall is the flames 4 C by the end of the month and Bennet lands in TOs top 6 where he can play with real talent and get his career back on track

Ok, so why would Calgary do this? A trade to TO makes sense, but not for Engvall

Because they've been shopping Bennet for years now, and there really not gonna get a better than package than Engvall and Dermott on the open market

He’s been in trade talks, he hasn’t ever been shopped. A team looking for a playoff push will pay more than Engvall and Dermott. It works value wise, but not to Calgary. Dermott wouldn’t even make the team, Engvall would be on the 4th line. If that’s the best offer, Sammy can wait for a trade

Who also is a very high end player WHEN ON HIS GAME. Sometimes he makes plays that show why he was a 4th overall pick. He just can’t do it consistently.
