I heard about this trade idea from Nick Kypreos on the Real Kyper at Noon show the other day.

Now, I know what you're thinking.

You're probably thinking this trade would be a disaster for the Leafs.

But that's not the question here.

Let's say Kyper becomes GM of the Leafs and on his first day at the job, he makes this trade.

Would the Flames make the playoffs?

If you don't know, you can tell me what would happen to Calgary's odds of making the playoffs.

According to money puck.com, the Flames currently have about a 45% of making the playoffs.

Just slightly under the chance of a coin flip right now.

Ignoring the value, Kerfoot and Robertson probably arn't enough to make a difference in more than a handful of games.

Kerfoot is far more valuable than bennett. Robertson for bennett would be fair value I think.

probably not, Robertson isn't completely NHL ready and Kerfoot isn't necessarily a game changer. this is also why Kypreos is definitely not a GM

Kerfoot is way better than Bennett, so the Leafs aren't doing that trade even straight up. Leafs aren't trading Robertson.
Bennett is a 4th centre, and maybe a third line winger. Certainly Flames aren't getting any thing good for him in any trade.

Wow, the only forward(s) that Bennett could replace on the Leafs is Vesey, Petan or Barbanov. Bennett just isn't good. Certainly Bennett is worth the Leaf top prospect.
