So you think he can be a 2C and also think he only deserves 1M? I'm confused

2C is a huge stretch. He lacks a lot of skill to be a 2c. I love Freddy and have had hopes for him for some time, but I was always aware, he was going to be nothing more than a 3rd line kind of guy. Much like Adam Lowry. He can fill in there for a game or two but won't solidify his spot there. I hope he proves me wrong though.

I like the player, like the role he plays, but think your evaluation is wildly optimistic. 2 points in 33 games doesn’t exactly scream top six center to me. Could he develop into that? Sure. I think it’s more likely he has at least a couple more years of being a third line grit guy. Then again that’s kind of the way marchand started out. I don’t see the offensive potential to ever have him be a top six player on a good team, but who knows.

Not sure I see him as a 2C and certainly not by next year. Freddy just doesn't have the offensive tools to be that kind of player (at least not right now). I think he ends up as a solid 3rd liner, who maybe can spot fill into a 2nd line role for short periods of time.

And who gets bump to 3rd line? Matthews or Tavares?

I don't see him taking 2C chance he takes 4C should Kuraly move on as a FA. I hopefully see him developing to be fairly similar as Coyle.

Bottom-6; probably a 4th liner, maybe a checking 3rd line C but 2C is highly doubtful so forget that for next year.

He will be a solid 3rd line guy unless he can improve more to a better level.
He will make more than 1 million, unclear how much

Not a 2C, but definitely a guy I'd like to keep around.

Agree with most everyone else is saying. I see Freddy being a guy in the vein of Chris Kelly for us. Solid 3rd liner whos a good locker room guy who has a couple seasons where he touches 20 goals or 50 points but fluctuates with his linemates. Wouldn't trade him to Toronto unless they wanted to overpay (like 2nd round pick+)
