Yeah, I would have to drop either Turcotte or Thomas or it's an overpay.

Probably Thomas as I don't think Nashville accepts unless Turcotte is included.

Kupari was leading the AHL in points before being assigned to the taxi squad, Grans has top 4 OFD potential, Walker is a solid RD that would have gotten 30+ points last year if the season didn't end early, and that’s a decent 2nd round pick for a struggling RW that has only gotten 50 points like once to twice so let's not act like it's a laughable offer. I would consider adding Thomas since most people think adding Thomas in the Nashville trade is an overpay.

It’s a good/great offer but some of the pieces don’t make too much sense for Detroit like the RDs. Detroit’s top 4 RDs are locked down with Hronek, Stetcher, and Seider next year. We also have Tuomisto in 2-3 years if he pans out.

Walker and Grans are both right handed and both play the right side. The Wing's have no need or use for either of them. AHL success doesn't mean NHL success. So 2 players they don't need a 2nd and a unproven player that isn't even one of the top 10 prospects in LA's system. So it's really not as good from Detroit's pov. Say what you want but there is no way that gets you Mantha.

The quote above really only works if a team is trying to force a player down your throat. Since you preposed this trade and you want Mantha bad mouthing him or pointing out his weaknesses doesn't work. It's a logical fallacy known as the Sunken Cost Fallacy. It's one or the other. So his he not that good or do you want him.

The same argument could be made about your RD pipeline lol Stecher is a 3rd pair guy. Seider and the others are all unproven. Walker is a #2 RD on your team right now and Grans has lots of promise. Your RD isn't as strong as you think it is.

What exactly do you think Mantha is worth right now? Lol.

I actually really like this deal for Nashville but like I saw above if you drop Thomas because Turcotte is the one that gets this done you need to add a lower tier prospect. I would love to see a deal like this done as a Preds fan Turcotte is a Type of player we have never had.

Once again you're not even close on Mantha's value, And Detroit easily declines.

But if LA genuinely considers trading Turcotte and a 1st for a 1LHD, wouldn't they rather have Orlov than Ekholm? Because I don't think Orlov is available, but once that offer comes in, things might change?

It's not just Ekholm though, the main attraction to this trade is Fabbro. We get a short term LD partner for Doughty until guys like Bjornfot and Anderson are ready to take the torch as well as a #2RD that can possibly replace Doughty some day. We don't have any RD that have that sort of upside.

I don’t want to get into the value of Mantha as I’ve already stated this is a great offer but some of the pieces don’t align with Detroit’s needs. I’m also not going to pretend to watch your entire prospect pool to give enough feedback.

Seider hasn’t played at the NHL but he’s played in 3 full professional leagues (DEL, AHL, and SHL) and hasn’t looked out of place in any of them. I think I read just a couple weeks ago that he’s the highest CF in the league and highest P/G for a U/20 (including forwards). He isn’t an offensive D but rather a gritty mobile defensive defensemen that displays a high level IQ of the game and ability to walk the blue line. He doesn’t have the best slap shot but his shot gets through defenders. If Detroit wants to shelter him a little then Stetcher is perfectly fine playing in that second role and he doesn’t suck (he’s paired with Staal) which is why you constantly see Vancouver fans creating ACGMs to get him back.

Grans seems very boom or bust to me but is promising. I’ve seen a few of his games watching Veleno and really see a offensive defensemen that I sometimes question his IQ on his puck decisions as he’s got quite a few turnovers in the games I’ve seen but he’s also extremely young for the SHL and Malmo isn’t a great team.
