Bergevin will not see anything.....because he is the real problem with the team......time for a change at GM and start the rebuild.

Explain how you rebuild when you’ve signed everybody

Ehh...the offer has good value, but honestly Preds have no use for the players offered here.

You start selling off assets like Weber, Price , Petry and Gallagher for draft picks and prospects with a new GM........I really feel that Bergavin just keeps snowing the Montreal fans.........but I guess I should not be surprised because he is part of the NHL oldboys club where you become a GM because you know the right people.

Yeah friedman already said the asking price was 2 prospects and a 1st. Basically a Muzzin trade. So 2 good prospects from montreal and a 1st would need to go

However with other teams interested there could be a bidding war so that price may go up

1 year of Danault and Kulak whose a 3rd pair and mete whose also a 3rd don't tip the scales for nashville even with the picks

Yes. Muzzin cost TOR the 2019 1st, 2016 2nd (Grundström) and 2018 2nd (Durzi)

If we were to change the years, that would mean Habs would have to pay at least 2021 1st, 2018 2nd (Struble) and 2020 2nd (Tuch). And if there's a bidding war to consider, then maybe add something to this as well. Most likely something to even out the cap a bit...Kulak for instance? Could work if Preds is willing to retain...

Why? This makes no sense for either team? Just put together a package for Ekholm, there’s no need to include Danault, or Kulak who just rekindled his magic with Petry last night.

We’ll probably be fine with the cap as long as we can include Mete, since Chiarot’s LTIR and accruing cap space via paper moves helps a lot. Ideally I’d just rather give up a 2nd round pick this year instead of Tuch, but I understand why Nashville wouldn’t want that. So I’d probably be fine with that, but it’s likely the habs get outbid by teams like Winnipeg or Boston.

To be honest, Grundstrom and Durzi weren't that good of prospects...solif but certainly not great. Comparable to Struble and Jacob Olofsson in MTL imo

When your name is @RomanovTheAnswer and you think Ekholm is the answer to find a teammate for Weber... 🤔

Wait, the short term and the long term are two different things? ... 🤔

Maybe, but Ekholm is better than Muzzin.
