If the Devils sell high on Wood, it is going to be for a much better package than that. Plus, they are pretty deep at center already, so this deal doesn't make much sense for them.

Nope, Wild pass first. Wood isn't worth Khovanov.

Why are the Wild getting screwed in every single trade?

Hartman isn't going on waivers, and Bonino isn't a cap dump.

I don't know much about Khovanov but from what I can see, a 3rd round pick with 0 points in the KHL this year doesn't seem anywhere close to Wood

Khovanov has 2C potential. His floor is going to be a middle six winger for sure. Wood is a bottom sixer, he's already reached his ceiling. I'll take the potential middle sixer every time, thank you.

He has zero points in the KHL because he got sent down to the VHL, where he is currently producing quite nicely.

Wood's having a breakout year this season so he hasn't reached his ceiling yet

Hartman and Bonino are both awful. The only difference is that no team would claim Bonino off of waivers.

Because Soucy for Kerfoot hurts the team more than it helps, we already have plenty of bottom six players. I'm not sure why you have us giving up a 2nd to swap Bonino for Nieto. The 2nd alone is worth far, far more than Nieto and Bonino is not a cap dump. Ryan Hartman on waivers is just flat out dumb, he's a very good third liner that's currently being asked to fill in as a 2nd line center. And Miles Wood is another bottom sixer that we don't need, and you have us giving up a potential 2C for him? None of those trades do anything to help us now or in the long term, and you're trading away some pretty good futures to achieve all of this.

He got a lot of points in VHL, which is Russian AHL. Coach Kvartalnov is notorious for demanding discipline and defensive play from all of his roster men and Khovanov was having issues with him. That is concerning, but he is a young C with a lot of talent and a very high ceiling. Also, Ak Bars is literally unstoppable for an array of seasons, they are the main contender and they are not the team that would just give a roster spot to a youngster. FYI, they declined to trade him anywhere else.

Good for him, I see that he has. But Wood is still 25 years old, he is what he is at this point.

You can't honestly tell me that he is better than Khovanov just because of two good seasons. Khovanov has outproduced him at every stage so far, except professionally. But Khovanov is still producing in the Russian version of the AHL at a high level, and will be in the AHL next year. He only chose to play overseas because of the pandemic.

Last year Khovanov put up 99 points for the Moncton Wildcats in the QMJHL, 74 the year before that.

Again, Khovanov's potential is far better than Wood's, and is 5 years younger. I will once again, take the younger higher potential player with better skillset over Wood.

Why are the Wild dumping Hartman and trading for Nieto? What's the point of getting a left shot wing like Wood. Wild have plenty of left shot wings. Soucy is actually a pretty good defenseman and Kerfoot is more of the same of what the Wild already have. This is like mad genius work of how to go from playoffs to the lottery.

VHL is far lower than the ahl. I get you’re comparing it to the Khl.

Thank you for informing me about him. He seems like a player that could be good in the NHL, but I don't think he will on the Devils based on their center depth. Hughes, Hischier, Zacha, McLeod, Sharangovich, Kuokkanen, etc

Kerfoot/Soucy 1 for 1 is the only interesting trade for MN. The rest just make MN worse.

Yeah, I'd rather just stay put. Trading away valuable futures for unneeded assets doesn't really intrigue me all that much
