If Kiviranta isn’t with Guri I’m gonna go nuts, they’re so good together. When Gurianov scored his 4 goal game, I really wanted Kiviranta to play with him and look what happened. But no, gRiT iS tHe OnLy wAy tO WiN, or whatever that bull**** Bones is doing.
I wish we had some actual grit.
Imo the likes of Cogs, Comeau, Kero and Gardner are tantamount to blocks of meat on skates that contribute but only in manpower.
Here's the problem - manpower assets are useless without someone leading them. Such asset can be of great advantage when they have an example on ice to follow. A superb two-way asset is a great example.
At his prime, Benn was just that. But not anymore. The likes of Faksa and Dickinson are trying to take the role, but unfortunately they simply lack in skill.
It's no wonder the likes of Boston, Pittsburgh, Florida and Vegas have some great mid-to-bottom 6 assets. All of these teams have great two-way leaders respectively in Bergeron, Crosby, Barkov and Stone. Their guys play well at the manpower role, unlike our blocks of meat.
