Just trying to think of some packages to get players that other teams can’t protect. Each trade is its own individual idea, we don’t have that many picks. Obviously need to pay a higher price because other teams will be bidding as well, but trying to explore options to make up for this bad team jim has assembled. It’s a testament to who you are when a team’s 4th/5th best defencemen is your 2nd/3rd LOL lmk the values because i’m not familiar with all the players here

7 Forwards: Peterson, Boeser, Miller, Horvat, Motte, Pearson, (Lind?)
3 Defense: Schmidt, Juolevi, (A defencemen we can hopefully get)
Goalie: Demko

*use 13-14m between petey and quinn and maybe sign a better backup goaltender?

Makar, Toews, Girard (Johnson?) we can probably give a better prospect if Sakic says no

Tbh i don't think this will happen because Tampa will let Savard walk and keep Foote - younger and more potential

i think it's okay if Florida says no. We can sign UFA Erik Haula. Just thought we'd need more centre depth because this season for instance...

-- boston deal --
i think this trade is very similar to the trade the Canucks made in 2013 to get the 9th overall pick for Cory Schnieder. Our pick this year will be around the same position. Cory Schneider had a .918 save percentage his entire career, so if people value a shutdown defencemen more than a star goalie, Canucks are giving up also a 3rd rounder and Jake Virtanen who probably still has 20 goal potential and is in need of a fresh start.
