A pile of crap and a few first round picks in a low rated draft doesn’t move the needle, especially to a team within the same division. If you can’t part with your Best prospects you’re not getting Jack Eichel, and that’s the end of it.
What is the desired return? Looking instead for Raymond and a first? Hockey deal like Laine and a first isn't really possible on Detroit. These prospects are far from a pile of crap though.
Berggren - drafted 33rd in 2018, 7th in SHL scoring this season
McIsaac - drafted 36th overall in 2018, has dealt with injuries over past 2 seasons but is finally back playing again. Potential for middle pair d-man
Niederbach - drafted 51st overall in 2020, too early to know but played well at WJC
Svechnikov and Cholowski are 1st rounders that are kind of reclamation projects
Top 10 pick, Top 30 pick, Top 50 pick in this year's draft and unprotected next season pick.
Like I said, quantity, but not crap.
