Not unless Hughes or Hischier is involved. I think you are better off just getting Luke though

Hughes has more value than Tkachuk so he won't be involved and Nico was just named Captain so he won't either

I don't think the Devils would be willing to move the pieces that the Flames would want

Totally understandable. Tkachuk is likely to be named captain of the Flames soon

I think it’s pretty fair. Zacha is probably gonna be a 50+ point guy going forward. Zettedlund is a prospect with some upside still- had a good year in the AHL this year. And then obviously u get a top 5 pick

Tkachuk would be great.
But Devils need a Rasmus Andersson far more.
We need young, righty d-man with high Zone Exit%.

I know Calgary isn’t much of a contender right now, but are they moving towards a rebuild or something?

I know you love Hughes, but Matthew tkachuk has way more value as he is more of a proven commodity. I think it would take both Hughes and hischier for Calgary to actually move tkachuk.

No way the Devils even consider that. Even though Tkachuk is more proven, you have to take potential and positional value into consideration. Hughes has much more potential than Tkachuk and centers are more valuable than wingers

Mercer could be a fit. He's the Devils second best prospect and did well in the QMJHL. Devils don't have a #1 center available so maybe a 2022 pick that could be high?

1. I’m not saying the devils should do that. You have to keep in mind that Calgary has no reason to move tkachuk. Therefore, it would take an overpay to get the player.
2. Who’s to say Hughes has more potential than tkachuk? Their draft position? It’s not like tkachuk is an old man. He’s 23 and has been a fantastic player in the NHL. Tkachuk has been about as close to a point per game as Hughes has been to a half point per game, and plays a more physical, defensive brand of hockey. There is no argument for Hughes having more value.

Dude cmon. Mercer does not fit that bill. He’s not a legit top line center. He’s not a legit top six RW.

Tkachuk has more value, Hughes as produced at a 3/4C level for his 2 years in the NHL, Tkachuk is a 1st line player, potential of Hughes is irrelevant in this trade.

That's fair. It's hard to determine who has more potential but I PREDICT that Hughes will become a better than Tkachuk. Keep in mind, Hughes just turned 20, 2 days ago.

Oh, that makes sense. I don't think the Flames should trade Tkachuk to the Devils then.

"Potential of Hughes is irrelevant in this trade" Wtf you talking about dude, you can't ignore potential. You clearly haven't watched Hughes play so stop making stupid claims
