It's medical negligence. He's entitled to pursue whatever treatment he feels is best for him. Not allowing him access to it when it's completely legal is neglect and against the law.

It's written in the CBA otherwise which his union has signed on his behalf

I suggest you re-read the CBA. Players are free to use whatever medical options they want as long as it remains within the law in their country (Being Canada or the States)

As a habs fan I would have Suzuki as untouchable, But that's just me

Eichel>>>>>Suzuki.

This trade would have to depend on what else is included obviously, but Suzuki should absolutely be at play for Eichel.

Prior to the 2020 bubble playoffs, the NHL and NHLPA amended the CBA section concerning “Second Opinions” for players. It allows players like Eichel to obtain these insights at their own cost, with full medical information provided by the team. A grievance or appeal of Buffalo’s stance is always possible, but the passage seemingly puts power in an organization’s hands: “The club physician shall determine the diagnosis or course of treatment (including the timing thereof) after considering any report or other records received from the player’s physician and after giving due consideration to their recommendations.”

Buffalo has the power till a grievance is filed. If that happens who knows it could lead to a mutual contract termination, which would be the worst outcome for the Sabres cause they’d lose him for nothing.

A grievance can't lead to contract termination. That's not how union law works. The grievance would be handled quickly as they don't have anything backing it up. The fact that Jack doesn't have a single doctor backing his decision would have it over before it started. Can't file a medical grievance without medical backing. That's just asking for it to be thrown out.

Was not aware he didn’t have medical backing. Did that change? If I was him I’d take the money he made and retire then waste my life, career, health and energy that is playing for the Buffalo Sabres. Team is just a disgrace. Plus he’s already made millions and set.

Yeah. Both team doctors and his second opinion agreed on rest and rehab. He heard of these boxers having the surgery and is pushing for it. Very weird situation. I personally think he's throwing a bit of a temper tantrum because Kevyn Adams isn't giving him whatever he wants since he fired Kreuger who Jack liked and is gonna have someone come in and put Skinner back on Jack's line (which at this point Jack saying he doesn't wanna play with Skinner is the only reason I can see it not having been done in 2 seasons).

At this point it’ll only get worse. Plus that neck injury has gotta be somewhat concerning for any team who might try and trade for him.

I'd trade anyone on the Blues for Eichel. He'd be the best player on the team immediately and for the next 6-8 years. I guess you could put ROR on the list because he's the captain and a big part of the leadership, plus his 7.5m is nice. But hell, anyone else can go (although NTC would thwart any plans). Robert Thomas is an amazing player, love the kid. But his best season might be similar to Eichel's worst. If they asked for Thomas, Dunn, and a 1st rd pick I'd say "let me find the cap space and it's a yes".

It shouldn't be because it's only a herniated disc. Guys recover from it fully with rest and rehab all the time. Just takes a while for such a minor injury.

I wouldn’t say minor, but yes typically with rest and rehab it gets better.

This amuses me, imagine thinking Montreal doesn't add significantly to Suzuki or KK lol

I'm not saying I think that's fair because it isn't even remotely close but that's the way the Canadiens management staff thinks.

Well no duh Eichel is better than Suzuki but I much rather keep Suzuki than trade for a $10 million Eichel, I consider Suzuki untouchable, Dude hasn't even reached his full potential and he's been doing solid in Montreal..... Nothing against eichel but I rather a 21 year old center who's been very good for Montreal rather than trade him for Eichel.....And most habs fans would agree with me
