Tkachuk is the only player Buffalo needs from Calgary. Wolf is good and all, but they have young capable goaltenders in the pipeline already. Mangiapane is a nice player, but only a complimentary piece in an Eichel trade.

Farabee is way more valuable than JG.

True, you have to give to get. Contrary to popular opinion Buffalo is not just trying to rebuild. They will want a player that helps them now, Tkachuk is a change of culture player on top of that. Exactly what buffalo needs, A physical leader who will not allow the team to be pushed around anymore. I can’t expect he would do it alone, but another move like signing Nick Foligno or trading for Miles Wood makes a big difference in my opinion.

Nobody is going to offwr better than Tkachuk which likely means Calgary isnt going to offer Tkachuk unless they get desperate

The prognosticators on this website will tell you no one will be giving up a player of Tkachuk’s caliber in a Jack Eichel trade. I think they’re wrong. It’s going to be a franchise defining trade for both teams if it happens. A significant piece has to come back to Buffalo, not just draft picks and prospects that amount to a pile of lottery tickets. But I think we both know that.
