I think Wings will just wait on Werenski and if the rumors of him wanting to come home are true he'll be in Detroit soon enough without having to give up a chance at Shane Wright

Detroit passes, Weren't giving up a potential top 5 pick in a very deep draft next year. If what Kyper says is true that Werenski plans on coming home to Detroit in 2 years. Then Jarmo has no leverage. If Werenski wants to come home to Detroit in 2023 then we just sign him for free as a UFA.

No to the Domi trade; Domi actually potentially has value here and so it's worth a shot.
No to the Korpi trade; that's not enough bribery to be taking back Neal.
No to the Jones trade; you could not possibly pay enough for me to ever be happy with a locker room troublemaker like DeAngelo coming anywhere near here.
Yes to the Laine trade but it has pretty much no chance of happening.
No to the Werenski trade; I'd rather at least try to keep somebody rather than just giving up preemptively.
No to the Merzlikins trade because he's worth more than that to us as an expansion-exempt starter.

Oh come on. Stop it, okay? He said it was a hypothetical. He outright told people "do not take that seriously" when he said it. It's meaningless.

lol out of all the teams to try and trade a RHD to you pick the Rangers hahahah.

Easy decline.

Though Jones for Trouba is an interesting trade...although Trouba's had more value the last couple years.

First off he didn't say it was hypothetical so you come on, He said it came from a source within the Blue Jackets organization that Zach is heading home to Detroit in 2 years. I got news for you if Jones leaves Columbus and he is there's no way Werenski is staying there.

I'd rather Detroit sign Werenski as a UFA. Like when the Leafs got Tavares as a UFA. Keep the picks. Especially one which might get Shane Wright if Detroit ever got a f'ing break in the draft lottery.

You know you could just buyout TDA and take the rest of these assets to pull off the heist of the century… right?

REAL close on the Laine trade. Just take out that 2022 fourth and replace it with that defense guy in the Red Wings trade, 'cause the Detroit guys won't do that anyway.

Here are his exact words:
Quote:
All I've heard for the last few days is Werenski's goal is to go back to Michigan. Someone told me, 'Mark my words, that guy is going to be a Red Wing. So... We all hear this, it's all speculation, I'm not reporting anything, so don't go running around saying I said that.

Please note the bolded. Please also note the lack of a Jackets source; he just said "someone".

The way Kakko is coming along, I'm not convinced that actually qualifies as a heist.

Bro I would literally prefer a scumbag-free Tony DeAngelo over Seth Jones… at least he gives you offense as opposed to nothing

Who cares Werenski is as good as gone, There's noway he's staying there especially with jones leaving. Werenski has stated numerous times his desire to play for his hometown Red Wings plus wants to play with his good buddy Dylan Larkin. He's gone no matter what Kyper says he's 100% heading to Detroit in 2 years Columbus is trending down and Detroit is trending up under the Yzerplan.

For one, no such DeAngelo exists. For another, public analytics and NHL private proprietary analytics do not always match up, so this idea of Jones being hopeless is not going to get much traction. At most, it'd eliminate a handful of teams that give lip service to analytics without actually investing.

Ah, so now we're to the "I don't care if I don't have evidence, your team is screwed and so are you" phase of negotiations. Thanks for sharing.

Of course none exists but that’s not the point. More importantly, Columbus is going to win just about every plausible Seth Jones trade scenario. And in reality, Jones is only going to get a massive extension from a team that gives lip service to such. Werenski and Gavrikov are much better players.

Wouldn’t be too sure he is gone. Werenski is close to home as it is. He also has great chance to be the captain soon. Also he is still young enough that he could get paid more in Columbus because of the extra year he can only get from Columbus.

Werenski isn't staying with a team that's trending down, Hardly anyone wants to play for that team. Nash wanted out, Panarin wanted out, Bobrovsky wanted out, PLD wanted out. Now Seth Jones wants out. See a major pattern here.

Unfortunately we will get a break this year when it doesn't matter as much and lose out on top 3 in 2022 and top 2 in 2023, that's just our lotto luck. To be fair we prob move back to 8th this year too ugggggh
