Not sure why Ott would make that trade. Either they are going to expose him to Seattle and lose him or if not likely try and trade him for an needed upgrade at C or RW, not for a 27 y/o career AHLer

The Sharks would be kidding themselves if they think they're GETTING Nils Lundkvist.

Why? They are trading you the 7oa pick. Nils is great but
Ranger fans think he’s the next Herman

Nardella the capitals 3-4th bets D prospects
47gp 7g 26a 33p

Nils Lundkvist
52gp 14g 18a 32p

Both play in the SHL. I think he’s good but people tend to glorify prospects

San Jose probably shouldn't be looking to trade top prospects like Weisblatt or top 10 picks.

Are you trying to set the team back another 8 years?

Does that really matter when you are talking about elite talent? Bedard is 15 and killing the WHL. Nardella is an undersized offensive Dman. I think Nils is great but people have him being the next Hedman. Like that guy is offering a 7oa pick for him and he’s laughing it off like he offered it for makar or Hughes

Yeah and he was comparing nils offensive production to a player who is more than 4 years older than him? And still hasn’t played in the NHL yet which doesn’t make any sense. I’m not talking about the trade I’m talking about the comparison.

Age doesn’t matter at some point. Point was an average prospect is putting up similar numbers as an “elite” prospect. If he’s hands down this amazing players why is his production that of an average prospect. Again Badard is like 4 years younger than most people in the WHL? He’s actually elite level and it’s painfully obvious. Not saying Nils isn’t good but if he’s this game changing guy his numbers would be insane.

Dahlin at the age of 17

Nils at 17
28gp 2g 3a 5p

Idk just saying I think he’s going to be good but Ranger fans are going crazy again like they have been for KK

Well KK just had an insane defensive season so I think they have the right to be excited for that. Now comparing him to dahlin I don’t get it. The trade is meh for both teams. Rangers won’t trade a prospect who is closer to nhl ready than starting over on another. And the 7th overall won’t be traded for nils.

And yeah age does matter and 4 years is a lot. If nils played in the SHL in four years from now it’s highly likely that his point totals will be better than the player you’re comparing him to. Especially for defencemen when they tend to breakout a little later than forwards.

You're talking to a Rangers fan, who knows exactly what they got in Nils Lundkvist. This is not a sound trade; in fact, it has 2017 written all over it. If your proposal went through, the Rangers could be looking at missing out on the right player a second time in four years: miss Petterson, take Anderson (knocked out of a stud and got a dud), this time miss either Hughes or Johnson (studs) get who knows.

Not a worthwhile move in the long-run.

Nardella a 5'9 ... 25 year old pure Offence no Def while Lundkvist breaks the record for highest points ever for a Def under 20 years of age in SHL history and thats not even his best quality its his Def. Sharks can keep that 7th overall pick. Georgiev is worth more then Simek as well so this is a lose lose for the Rangers.

I kinda agree with you guys, hence my proposal. Nils is gonna be a stud. Simek for Georgiev's an even wash though IMO and fits with both our team needs too.
