Imagine if he gets picked. Doubt Bergy would leave him unprotected just to lose him, but if it does this thread will add an extra like 50 pages or so.

Bergivan would get fired

Feel your pain. Barzal is playing in the same situation as Heiskanen, they play with a bunch of grinders and still are good, but with good players they become even better.

Isles fans/writers overrate mediocre players (Bailey, Leddy) but they underrate the players that drive the isles success. Last season isles fans/writers said Devon Toews was expendable because he struggled in the playoffs, they said he's nothing more than a 2nd pairing D lol - he goes to the avs and finishes 11th in Norris voting...

It’d add 50 pages, 49 of which would just be me screaming.

If Price gets taken I could see an article being titled

"Bergevin gambled with the gods and lost"

which is followed up by 50 pages of fans screaming "WTF"

As lets be real this is a gamble for the ages

So I'm going to predict a trade that happens after Seattle.

Koskinen and a pick to Arizona for Kuemper.

I think Arizona is planning to tank a bit as if you make everyone but one player available what message does that send, its definitely not "were competing"

I'm hyped. I'll probably on capfriendly and twitter most of the day discussing the big news and protection lists. Then comes the wait for the expansion draft and all of the speculation, next comes the draft (almost done my rankings/ final mock that I've been working on for a few months now), and finally the resigning phase (probably some more trades too), and free agency. I can't recall an offseason better than this.

Couldn't find a suitable return so exposes him for the expansion draft

Very dumb idea

I hope the Devils don't overpay

Well I’m assuming that means whatever return they would’ve received for Tarasenko would’ve been less than what it would cost to protect Barbashev/Dunn. In which case exposing him is a very prudent move.

Edit: Well actually just Dunn, since Barbashev would’ve been protected no matter what.

That's true. I thought they would have gotten better offers for Tarasenko though

Didn’t watch it, but how did Phoenix lose 3 straight? If the Bucks win I’ll be happy for Giannis because he deserves it.

SEA selects Price hands-down if he's exposed as Vegas did w/ Fleury.
If CP plays well they likely win and have success from the start (re: $$$$ success in a soft-ish market).
If he falters, there's likely 16 to 20 clubs in the 'playoff mug chase' would make a sweet deal w/ SEA benefiting (again) at/near the deadline.

I'm a big Giannis fan, I really wanted him on the raps but he stayed. Hope he wins it.

I saw game 3 but that was because I was at my Grandma and Grandpa's house (they have cable tv, I don't). That's the only nba finals game I've seen.

Can someone tell me this: is Cody Glass exempt from the expansion draft? If not, that's not the greatest for Nashville.

Ok, that makes a lot of sense.

That's why there was the Patrick for Glass part of the Ellis trade then.

Well unless Bergevin & Price have severely misjudged the situation, I don’t think that will be the case. Because all signs point to Carey and the habs being sure that Seattle won’t pick him.

Maybe BUT
SEA is close to home for CP.
He would be THE GUY on the club and have a re-newed buzz about him...
SEA needs to make a splash 100% - he's def a SPLASH/CANNON BALL!!
