If I’m Seattle, and you leave Kaapo Kahkonen available, I’m picking him not Soucy.

We have quite the challenge with our goalies in terms of expansion. On one hand Kahkonen is younger and has a whole career ahead of him but on the other hand Talbot was a lot better and more consistent for us. Guerin might have to make a deal to protect our exposed goalie...

PHI does that, I think they might rather offer Lindblom and their 13th overall for Dumba and a 2nd, but Dumba is what they need and its very difficult to put a trade value on Patrick

Agreed, a trade has to happen. Your goalies have been playing amazing this past year, and your defence is very good! It would suck if you lose one of those goalies.

I’m not so sure either way. I’m not sold Kaapo will be a legit #1 and see his peak as a 1B, I think there will be other young goalies available with higher upside. Talbot is 34 and played behind a great defensive team, unless SEA believes they can replicate the defensive effort in front of him it would be a big risk taking him. Kaapo’s biggest upside to the Wild right now is that he’s a competent backup making league minimum.

Don’t forget that there are as more, better UFA goalies on the market this year. The Talbot experiment makes MIN a very attractive destination for a goalie that wants to build stock.

I think the Dumba trade is likely fair value, I think we would rather have Frost included but not a biggie. I do wonder if we couldn’t get Patrick some other way since I really think Dumba will be in a Wild sweater next year and Patrick could be a low cost, low risk bet.

Indeed it would suck to lose a goalie for free to not play elsewhere, like Edmonton perhaps?

Philly definitely does this and no we wouldn't rather offer Lindblom, we'd be fine dealing Patrick and getting Dumba and a third back. Patrick is on the outs here and Lindblom is one season removed from being a potential 30 goal scorer. Trade accepted though for sure.

If Kahkonen gets picked by the Kraken, I will consider it a huge win for the Wild! I too see him as a 1b at best and more likely just a good, solid backup. Goalies like him grow on trees and the Wild have many good UFA goalies to choose from if needed.

I really don’t see Seattle taking Kahkonen over Soucy. Especially with the way he played at the End of the Year. Seattle needs to get to the cap floor somehow and a guy making under 1 million is going to make that tough

I personally have no faith in Patrick, but in terms of measured risk taking, this would be about what I'm hoping for from Guerin.

Ya middle pairing RHD...not what the Flyers need. We could get a guy that could potentially be a top pairing D at #13.

Fletcher loves dumba for one, and second of all fletcher trades first round picks like they are nothing. Your 13 OA selection will most likely be in the NHL in 2 years from now? Fletcher wants to win Now.

And that is why we will go after Jones before we go after Dumba.
