I’d like to ask, respectfully, what is the reason you keep pushing this Mayfield/Frederic deal with Seattle? Mayfield is almost certainly being protected by the islanders, and ZAR is like the best 4th liner in the league so a downgrade to Frederic doesn’t make sense.
Aside from that, this is a pretty decent team, though I don’t know if the Rust-Nichuskin trade makes sense for both teams.

Dude we’ve been over this. Frederic is very likely to be protected. How many of these are you going to make?

Islanders will protect Leddy Pulock and Pelech

Rust would be a cheap top 6 option for COL since they will be in cap hell next year

Its a good question. I think it started out as inexperience, and now they’re just worried that the way he plays he would run on pure adrenaline and take a major. I think there’s a good chance he plays game 6.

You and i went over the list though. He’s going to be protected.

He should have played last night--- there is nothing coming from bottom six, especially fourth line.

Agreed. And there’s nothing coming from ritchie, which is why Frederic will be protected.

Who was hurt when RItchie was in top six? Or was it pre Hall arrival?

Pre hall. He bounced in and out because they just couldnt’ get it right. Its not just bad play that’s the issue, its laziness. I honestly think he’s out of the league in a year.

Why would Edmonton give up a 3rd for a 9-goal guy making $5.5M x 2 when they can get better players in free agency for less money and keep their pick?

Because he had a down year and can get pretty cheap compared to what they pens paid

If I’m the GM of the bruins i don’t qualify him and don’t make an offer. No room for that kind of culture.

I’m guessing 2x2 is what he gets though.

Says who? Mayfields been better so far this playoffs than Leddy has. He's cheaper and the Saints, I mean Islanders could benefit by losing Leddy's 5.5 million dollar cap hit.

Coyle has like 5 years left with an NMC, so nothing.
Krejci signed after the expansion draft

Bryan Rust has been a 36 goal-72 point guy over his last two seasons and a 30 goal-60 point guy over his last three.
I think the Pens can do much better than what you have them getting in the trade with Colorado.
I also personally think a Rust trade will only be done to help restock the cupboard a bit with picks/prospects

How is COL in cap hell when assuming they lose Graves in XD they have nearly $24M in cap space not having made a move. Hell they play TBL game and put EJ on LTIR and they have $30M in cap space. Even giving Makar an $8M bridge Landy $7.5 and a Grubauer $6.5M they fit under the cap making no moves.

Just because the Pens paid a lot doesn't mean the Oilers will. At his age it's 50/50 whether it's decline or a bad year. Oilers have enough cap space to address their needs but there are better bets out there. For the Oilers to take Zucker, Pittsburgh would need to retain or take cap back. At his production level/cap hit, he's a cap dump and not an asset.

    Then why doesn't he play?

Because he's not that good. This is much like Studnicka, where a guy is massively over hyped. He's 24 next season. If you aren't making bones in the NHL at 24 your odds of being anything are slim to none. Which is why he plays so desperate. He knows, there is no more chances. So the clown tries to drop gloves with OV as he laughs at him. As if someone with OV status is gonna waste his time with a fringe 4th liner.
I doubt BOS protects him. The only way that happens is if they really don't have anyone to protect, or they leave guys exposed hoping to move the contract for cap space. There is little value there.

There is nothing coming from the 2nd line either in all fairness. BOS is a 1 line team. As long as NY drags that 1st line into the mud every game, BOS chances of winning are low.
I noticed they keep pounding on Pasta much like they did Jake. That open ice hit, looks like he was slow to get up last game. Clutter**** at his finest.
