Avs are not protecting Graves going 4-4.

Graves is not protect worthy and they are not exposing Kadri and Landeskog

Im assuming by the Sabres protecting Ullmark that means he would have been signed before the draft, since he is a UFA. I also think they protect Thompson and expose Asplund.

For LA, instead of Wagner and Lemieux, the Kings will protect Grundstrom and Moore.

That's assuming the Kings don't make any trades between now and the expansion draft. It's highly likely that the Kings will make several moves between now and then, so the list is likely to change.

Sure Drouin is protected, I don't think he's back with the team but MB can grab some assets for him.
No need to protect Danault, we'll likely sign him after the expansion draft

You don't need to protect free agents. Seattle won't take them

I don't understand... the Flames are protecting Backlund but then giving up him and the last goalie we drafted? I mean you can have Bobrov though

Montreal: I have to guess that Danault will be signed otherwise Bergevin would play a game were he already got burned (Radulov, Markov) so I'd guess Evans would be exposed so Seattle could end up with a great player at any position from Montreal. Great neutral (Allen, Chiarot, Allen)

Edit: After thinking about it Lehkonen is an RFA so maybe he could be left unsigned instead of Danault, that could be one thing. And it also depends if Drouin is still a Habs which is pretty vague right now.

I think getting assets for Drouin at this point in time is unlikely.

No he wont be,

Avs are not allowing Seattle 48 hours to negotiate a contract with him. Teams who plan on resigning and keeping their Free agents do not let them be exposed earlier to contract offerrs

Why would Landeskog go from a cup contender to an expansion team?

Unless there's no one else to protect, the Avs should not protect Landeskog

Teams never protect free agents. Ovi, Hamilton, Hall, etc will all be exposed because everyone knows that they won't sign in Seattle

dont let another team drive up the price on him by offering him multi million more than the Avs.
You dont let another team put the idea of signing for big money offers like that into his head. You dont take that risk just bc you want to save Donskoi or Compher over him

And its his agents Job to get the best deal for him, all the does is gives the agent more leverage to drive up the cost of a contract for no reason

What would the Avs offer Landeskog? Around 7-8 million on a long term deal.

There's no way Seatle would offer close to 10 million on a long team deal to Landeskog.

They could offer him that type of money if they wanted. Thats the point

Dont play cute with a guy you cant take the risk of goign to market. 99% of avs fans all agree on this, you wont sway the fan bases opinion of leaving him unprotected trying to think they are smarter than the draft system
