He was pretty noticeable during the series versus the Jets which I assume is the driving force behind this extension (unless it's expansion draft related)

Solid depth signing for the Oilers who is actually a decent 4th liner occasionally. Never hurts to have too much depth.

Probably partially expansion draft fodder, and an OK depth guy if he is not selected by Seattle

I wasn't expecting a 2-year term, but the AAV is fine and the contract can be buried if necessary. He won a roster spot on merit this year, so I'm not at all surprised he got a contract. Good deal for Edmonton.
