How could that possibly be a viable Eichel return

😐

Gustavsson being good for 9 games is unreliable

Abramov, White, 2nd are good pieces at very best

The 1st is 10th overall in a weak and sketchy draft

😐

That might be enough to get Reinhart, at very best

I’d pass on both of those trades. Too much to give up for one year of Jones and the uncertainty behind Eichel will skew the trade returns until the situation is rectified

I think Detroit and Buffalo will be at the bottom. Boston are pretty tricky, might be losing Rask and Krecji, they're still short a good LD too. Tampa will be losing a ton of depth as well to make room to keep their players. Toronto not sure what theyll do this offseason but they have it in tough, trying to find a tandem goalie, another good D and possibly losing Hyman. Montreal and Florida are good but on any given year could be good or bad. Im not saying any of these teams will be bad in any way just dont think any are unbeatable.

I don’t disagree with you, just a comment on the draft and the draft pick. The 10th overall in a wide open draft is similar to a 15th to 20th overall in a regular draft. The value drops a little, but not as much as some people think, and once the draft gets into the second round, the value difference is almost negligible, since it’s a crapshoot on who gets picked by then anyway, because every team has their own unique ranking of prospects.

Come on, if you could get Eichel for that handful of "okay" stuff, you jump at it. Easiest YES in the world.

10th, 42nd, Gus, White and a prospect who’s back overseas. I’m with you, definitely underwhelming.

If you asked me at the start of the whole saga I’d do it in a heartbeat but I think I’ve just been turned off by all the talk about the injury and the rehab/surgery
